Your just the same as me! When I bought my 182 I was never and I mean NEVER going to get a smaller plate...…….. then I bought my private plate for the car and surprise surprise, folded and got a smaller plain one. Yours is VERY small tho, I specced mine to fill the number plate gap perfectly top...
To drive a turbo Clio is different to a normal 182, that's been said above several times, but the way it delivers is smoother and for me personally, it's progressive all the way through not having to wait for 5k plus it doesn't give you that 'nothing nothing nothing WHAM!!' turbo lag of an 80's...
All 3 are nice but different, just depends what you want for the car - if you want a stripped out track car or well sorted car you can use for the whole family
Fingers firmly crossed for you with regards to the deposit, hopefully you'll be ok there. Buying a car should be a pleasure!!
I can't comment on the silver one as haven't seen it, but I know how good Ollie's is and how much history the car has. If I didn't have my Arctic 182, it would be in my...
Looks stunning in those 2 new photos! As mentioned above, if the rust removal work has been done and more importantly has been done well and to the best standard, wouldn't bother me in the slightest, it's a bonus really on a phase 1 these days. With the lows the car already has can see the...
That Renault 5 GT Turbo looks absolutely stunning in the photos, nice to see a clean and original one especially in the red!
Is that going to be a daily tho? I'd be worried to leave it anywhere lol!
I saw you mentioned Ollie's Turbo'd Monaco, I can confirm its as good as it looks in the photos...
Yes the original is a bit more refined with the chrome effect edging etc, will leave this on a while and see how I get on with it!
Lows, spacers and all new brakes to be fitted hopefully tomorrow and Tuesday, also getting the calipers and hubs painted and cleaned up too
Fitted the new grille this morning, very simple job to change them over - must say for the relatively low cost of this one, the quality is actually very good and the fit is perfect!
For me though, having the correct and genuine grille badge makes it. The one supplied would have made the whole...
Very nice looking car this, saw it for sale and was like :D but then remembered I already have a 182 and no spare garage space lol!
Nice to see it's staying on the forum, will be interested to see what's done. Black wheels and lows really suit it!
I personally like the silver trim on the RS mats, it's the fact the Renault Sport logo on the driver's mat isn't the correct font/style for the 182 that originally put me off. Sounds sad, but there you go lol that's me, so I bought your set and as said was great quality and will match the PB...
Huge difference with the headlights, never thought about doing that myself!
With the mats, I had those in mine before I bought the RS set - very good for the money I thought
So the next (and most likely last for a while) delivery arrived for the car today, from America (California so another £20 import charge, nice!)
I've been toying with the idea of changing the grille to the JDM Altezza style one but looking on eBay US, there was no way I was going to pay 300...
Now that looks stunning!! Big power too i'd imagine ?
But not for me lads, for what I've spent on it already I could have bought another whole car and it's supposed to be a 'cheaper' daily, need to be sensible lol!
I actually saw a turbo one going through town yesterday, standard wheels, standard height, no bodykit, just a black intercooler and pipes at the front to give it away - oh and an awesome turbo sound! I must remain strong however, this is my daily and needs to be reliable lol!
Delivery from @George@RTR_Parts today, all new Brembo discs and pads front and rear (and brake fluid as well for when needed)
Great fast service as always, thanks George ?
That doesn't sound too bad at all to be honest to get all that lot done plus any mechanical work etc too. I mean a mint set of seats will be a good few hundred! Just to make you feel better, I've spent more than the quoted £7500 above in two years on mine and that doesn't include buying the car...
This looks a cracking base for a project and for me, the plans are exactly what the car needs to make it perfect. The seats, suspension, wheels, brakes will all majorly enhance it - I know it wouldn't have been cheap but the value of this car is only going to go one way but after waiting so long...
Looks a nice car that, yes the Range Rover ride height is a bit high lol but as mentioned above most are sooo low! There was a couple black ones around here a while back, both 'slammed' and both blowing out clouds of coal under heavy load. Good second hand buys those ones. This car looks smart mate!
