Looks like the kind of BMW that's spent more time on roundabouts than is strictly necessary, hence surprise clutch is no surprise.
At least you know what you're doing with mechanical stuff though so be reet, ya?
I went to get mine done, but they'd "run out" of batteries for 6s
So I booked in for Saturday, they'd have one in with my name on it then....
...nope, chronic battery shortage worldwide.
Still, get what you pay for
"The biggest annoyance of this lack of theatre is that when combined with the interior out of more cooking Clio's, when I am around town I feel as though I am just in your average 1.2 with no real cues as to the talent that lies within."
Slap a drainpipe exhaust on it and don't use anything...
It's a pretty hard argument to fight, in many cases. (no pun intended)
In stores you'll only get what the store can permit, which is minimal. You'd need to go to a bonefide Cust.Care team. Start spamming Apple UK twitter with pics of your bust product. Play their game
In fairness, unless you want to go through a "fit for purpose" argument, if the warranty has expired, that's your lot.
Make a scene about it on social media though, and you'll probably get traction
The 6s recall is still ongoing, mine is getting its replace battery at the weekend, then I'll try iOS 11 and see how much of a brick the phone becomes.
All Apple need to do is do an update to cancel off their throttling "for the battery" and give users the choice. Would you rather have full...
Interesting.... do update on how that unit works out.
I've only ever read bad things about cheap Chinese android or Windows head units, and my Parrott Asteroid is a total nail.
But If that one's actually good, I might have to give them another look
This is very true.
Hard tops help....but aren't a full answer. I remember the old SL's had "rear windows" in their softtops.
But, hang on, this is an Emfwee, so surely the rear-view is pointless anyway ;)
Whats wrong with that? You know that convertibles have heaters too?
Hacking around in the winter in Listerine. No roof, heaters at full, seat heating on, windbreak up. Essentially you're sitting in a bath of warmth, with infinite headroom and 99% 360-degree visibility.
It'll be a listed feature on the headunit "remote display compatible" or similar.
Then you need the clio-specific adapter lead to carry that data to the display. It didn't need "programming" or anything.
For alpine the keyword is "OEM Sub-display Ready". Then a long debate with Alpine Europe to...
In the 172 I had to get a £70 cable from Alpine, and it only worked with £200+ head units at the time. It was a nice-to-have but didn't take much effort to wire in, it all just fitted in-line with existing cables.
Very true.
Although swapping out the head unit at all, you'll need to be choosy over parts and cables to retain that dash-top display saying anything other than time/temp and RENAULT
How OEM do you want?
Because for what you're asking for you're likely to end up with some sort of control box / panel somewhere on your dash. It's all good for wanting to "retain the OEM look" but the stock unit is pretty poor.
Some options
Adapter to OEM unit - £100
Add-on handsfree - £90...
