An i5? Pfffffft. May as well plug the monitor into an iPhone. ;) But yeah, in seriousness, so long as the lad isn't going to try to do, like, high-end CAD, video editing, protein folding and such, good one. Add another couple of hundred to that bottom line though, for building it an putting...

Well, if OP is content to bang £2000 into silicon, then they can have a V12 tower.

I can't say I know what the spec is on the monitor, but no, you wouldn't be running it at 4k, and 1080p is going to be lower settings. It'll likely still be an improvementon whatdever they're putting through it now though. My stance is it's not about buying a 4k, 120fps machine in one hit. Slap...

Buying my son a gaming PC, help.

There's always the bit-by-bit approach. Using the AMD Ryzen 5 APU, with as much super-fast memory as possible, you can build a good base that'll play 1080p gaming fine. It wont be se4tting any framerate benchmarks, but it will handle most things you throw at it. You'd already have plenty of...

Buying my son a gaming PC, help.

You need more RAM, and faster RAM at that. Also, more hard drive space. The SSD you have there is....ok, but will run out of space quickly and isn't the fastest option anyway. (NVME are the letters to look for on your boot drive). Then get a normla hard drive in there if the chassis will take...

If you're not going to SLI a pair of Titans, you're clearly a neglectful parent, TBQFHWY. THIS IS FOR A 10yr OLD!!!?!??!?! Jeez. Ryzen 5 APU with 32gb of the fastest ram you can jam in it, with an NVME C:, done. When that can't run Roblox quick enough anymore, jam a GPU in it then. EDIT...

Buying my son a gaming PC, help.

There's a cheaper solution to the problem than chucking 64GB of 3200 memory at the problem though. I appreciate that CS Ballers would rather chuck another £200 into their motherboard than go through the arduous torment of closing a browser they wont be looking at for an hour, but the majority...

I may have to sell the Clio after all l’ve done to it

There are many perameters when building houses, related to parking and access. Be that your grand-design, self-build or a massive estate. It's why you see so many couchhouse-style flats in new builds. It's not just 6 garages, it's another house to sell! In regards to size of garage, there is a...

Emptying the garage of any old tat that's been sat there for 5 years and could be in landfill = Pro winning styles However, I suspect this isn't the case with our man here... I just see it happening a lot elsewhere. "I can't get me car parked on me rooooooad." Hang on, dont you have a garage...

    Clio Ownership; 6 Weeks in

The weight from cup to standard makes as little difference in MPG as it does in real-world point-to-point performance. For what it's worth, a stock MX5 1.8 does about 30mpg in real-world use, is lighter than a Clio cup and comes with 50hp less. An Evo 3 with 500hp and no interior..... does 30mpg.

    Track Day Tyres - 205/50/15

If it's sprint trials like I've seen, as James says, you wont have time to get temperature. Typically you aren't allowed to do burnouts or such. The only cars I see with slicks at sprints are single-seaters.

    Clio Ownership; 6 Weeks in

32MPG is entirely reasonable for a atmo 2.0l engine that can push 170hp. Long runs with cruise control at 70 may bring you up towards 40mpg. If you drive it with any kind of gutso, 30mpg is about right.
