The bloke selling it had it up for a few months he said, and really needed to get rid as his Mrs was about to pop. It came with a private reg and a Yozza too which got sold on so I made money back on that. A proper bargain! The only thing it's needed are 2 lambda sensors and an alternator. 😌
Those of you who know me will know that the Trophy is far from a show car bodywork wise. It's lived on a track all its life and every owner has taken it to the Nurburgring at least once. It's covered in stone chips (the front bumper is beyond salvageable), the door handles are pink and it gets...
@Austin-182 my axle stands have rubber pads on that the bolt sits on, if you're using that bolt then once you've dropped the car central onto the axle stand give it a bit of a rock side to side for absolute peace of mind that it's going to stay where it should. I'd just use the big beam thing...
Hope you get what you want for it either way pal. I've had 2 Clios with engines that died and know how it makes you feel. I managed to sell mine for parts and get a lot, but not all of the value back.
I was just messing, but there's this one too: http://www.cliosport.net/threads/172-cup-engine-%C2%A3150.789506/
Probably people breaking cars on eBay for spares who'd sell you an engine cheap ish. Or, you might even be able to get what your car is worth if you break yours for spares etc.
I think it's the spring but it squeaks on every wipe. Is there anything I can put on it to try and stop it? I've tried WD40 which worked for about 10 minutes then covered my car when I set off.
I've had the engine light come on and every now and again it would splutter briefly on acceleration, but overall it's felt fine. I plugged it in and got the below:
I then cleared the faults and started the engine. The engine light didn't come back on but these faults came up again saying...
I had to message him asking for a tracking number then they were marked as posted a few days after. He replies quite quickly but doesn't seem to know how to use eBay properly, which isn't really a problem if he's just starting out.
Mine vibrates the mirror when revving! I can feel it through the steering wheel and seats at idle too.
Gash how?
In all seriousness, what's the difference between the Evol and the Powerflex one once fitted?
They weren't joking when they said it vibrates the s**t out of you lol!
When slowing down I can hear a bit of a whining noise from the gearbox I assume. Is that normal when having super stiff mounts?
Also, does the vibrating ever get less fierce or do you just stop noticing it?
My mate has a 182 which could benefit from a clutch change. There's a decent local garage nearby and he's wondering whether to take it there or use a specialist for it.
I'm basically wondering if there's anything that can be cocked up by a non-specialist not knowing something or any comming...
