CS Areas Day 2014 Post Event Thread.

As dmallett said, it was a poor turn out for EOE, the people made up for it though, and the drive there and back (The last for my 1.5!). I wanted to attend both SE and EOE, but timings just didn't work. Only chose EOE as I knew peope I wanted to see weren't going to SE.

A few questions - ITB related

Run two fans if required, perhaps one on a seperate circuit so its a switch on the dash. This is how my mates Ph1 on ITBs is. As for oil filter, you could do as Jay has done, or just remove the filter/trumpets when wanting to change the oil filter. You may require a oil cooler if you use your...

My point was despite what Hispec say, you need new lines, even if you have braided already.

I guess I had never spoke about it to you, It was always the intention, since buying the Laguna, but I just hadn't time etc. Now the 1.5 is fooked, and its the end of the season, Ideal time for it. And that, working stuff out over the last few months has played off, although I still found out...

    AlexW's Driveway Antics :)

I shall perhaps call you up on that when you're back. A lot of it is a one man job! What engine conversion isn't? Its nothing new to me, having done a fair few over the years. The biggest issue will be the ECU etc stuff, but as thats my forte... Plus I have plan A, B and C for that! PD would...

I was quite impressed that I got the Clio from driving, to having the 1.9 sat in place in 2.5hours. I'm never, ever doing another, I can already tell. They are staying with me for the time being, I may put the pump on the Black DCi and I'm not sure the injectors are any good. I'm still doing...

Bit of updating to do here. Firstly, changed top mount bearings, then headed to Castle Combe for the Forge Action Day... That was a couple of weeks ago (I think?) Started pulling the Laguna apart Saturday.. Last time it'll ever look like this Engine ready to come out, but lacking time...

Block the carbon canister pipe (on the left) and you won't need to block that bit.

brake options rebuild or new calipers

No you misunderstand. If the N/S is sticking, meaning you're not getting full braking on that side, it would take longer to wear out, and cause the opposite side to wear faster. Without any investigation, its impossible to know for sure.
  28. A

brake options rebuild or new calipers

Last year I told you about it many weeks prior. Both calipers need checking for being sticky tbh, could actually be the passenger side sticking.
  29. A

brake options rebuild or new calipers

You'd want to do both at the same time, and discs if they've worn unevenly too. 4pots will mean less choice in wheels/require spacers and new brake lines depending on the setup (Hi-spec for instance), plus brackets and shimming. You'll struggle to get that for less than £600 too imo.

    Rolling arches?

Issue is rolling the arches without cracking paint etc, heat is required, and its ideally a job to do in summer! I wouldn't worry about extra supports on the front bumper, the clips along the wing edge do a fine job, and if you just bend the bumper bracket upwards, solves it easily. Mine rubs...
