RIP.
my 197 started having strange electrical issues, turned out that some CAN wires in the harness in the engine bay had shorted together and needed stripping back and repairing. Down by the fuse box in the top right of the bay as you’re looking at it. Under all that basically.
It’s...
I have battery drain with the random android head unit that came in the car.
Only really an issue if the car is left for 4days for me. It starts like crap in the morning though but most of these cars do.
i need to fit the later gateway or whatever it is, but haven’t gotten round to it. As...
So I get that this is a restoration, and it being a cup should remain OEM. BUT, with it being a 182 cup the Trophy dampers do fit...
Just some food for thought. Recaro's, Trophy dampers and you've got yourself an RB Trophy. Also with it being a cup it's got cloth rears and only AC not CC, so...
I'm surprised that no one made a replacement tensioner/alternator bracket that worked WITH aircon, but allowed for much easier belt changes.
Surely they'd have made good money with that and most people would just fit one at the time of doing all the belts for ease of maintenance going forward?
One to add to the thread...
Sainsbury's Super Unleaded.
My car is stage 1 mapped by R-Tech for V-Power supposedly. I decided that it's an absolute f**king hassle going to Shell to fill up all the time so tried Sainsbury's Super. Absolutely zero difference. If anything it feels a little...
Look at the options from OSIR. They aren't cheap but they are full replacements. I'm using the small ones that are pretty much the same size as standard. Just a lot more premium feeling.
They actually seem to have come down in price.

Seeing Turbo Yoda in the video made me think “what happened to skid factory”. Looked on MCMTV2 and it wasn’t there so I was like okay. Looks like about 12 months ago they make their own channel and I didn’t even realise.
I’ve got a lot of catching up to do
182 you can get away with an "RSTuner" remap but it doesn't really need it, still worthwhile though. Cheap enough and is basically flash map. 197 has a flatspot as standard that drives everyone mad so people get it mapped out.
In terms of running costs, bigger tyres, bigger brakes, worse MPG...
Out of interest why not a 197/200?
For me, as a daily they are significantly better than the 182/172 and price wise it's pretty identical these day. Running costs are more for fuel, tyres brakes etc, but it already has front brembos and if you're lucky recaro seats.
As a track car they...
Still miss mine.

^^doesn't seem to let me tag him even though his thread still exists. Not sure if he still owns it.

Being able to use open WiFi networks too is a plus. Wouldn’t dream of using one without VPN.
But region unblocking and downloading pirated content are other reasons people use it
Average price of around £15k which is the same money.
I'm not necessarily talking about the newest of each. But then M135i isn't the newest version either.
And as you said FOR YOU. Which is what I said in my original post and you got the pitchforks out.
Your point being...?
What's going to be better in snow as an example? M135i or ANY of the above?
And those that say M135i with snow tyres if you put snow tyres on the competition is it still better in the snow?
And the question isn't "more fun" it's about practicality. Snow is just an...
