The Megs generally don't sound that good. I know of a couple that do but compared to other 2.0 turbos like the Astra VXR they sound terrible. Shame really.
plans for the car look god though mate, I'm a huge fan of the R26.
My 182 used to kick noticeably and the tone of the engine changed at 5k. My 172 didn't quite so much, that said NWP had changed the cambelt and fucked it up so that would probably explain that one.
My MX5's alarm was really over sensitive, when I was at uni I had exactly the same situation.
It was worsened when my mates realised banging on the soft top would set it off; every time we went out one of them had to set the alarm off on my car, t***s.
Scorpion SRN019 and decat. Search youtube for it. Great system, sounds good, loud when you want it to be but doesn't drone on cruise control. I loved mine and would buy one again for a 182.
Get an app that allows you to use 0800's at standard rates and then you'll be insured, will save you not only the cost of a phone call but also £ 200.00 and 6 points.
0800 Wizard for example.
I used to change down through every gear in my 182 because with a decatted exhaust system the noise is great with the rev match. I also used to ensure I reg matched to prolong the life of the transmission. Now I have a leased diesel Seat Ibiza I don't bother as it has a warranty and doesn't have...
Lovely specced car that mate. If you only keep it 12 months will you not take a huge hit of depreciation? That said it's the most desirable spec so shouldn't be hard to move on. Enjoy it.
I think you're just driving quicker to listen to it. You also get worse mpg in winter too as there are more cold starts etc. just don't worry about it.
I really want another at some point. Having owned a ph1 and a 182 I feel that the 182 was a better all round car, but the ph1 always felt more special.
They are becoming a little more rare though, the early ones like I had are now over 13 years old. Fortunately they don't seem to rust but...
As above. A really clean 182 can be had for £ 2,500 now. The conversion would cost more, plus insurance etc is a ball ache with converted cars a lot of the time.
Awesome cars. I test drove one a few years ago and thought it was great, just not quite as great as my ph1 172 (in my opinion) I had at the time.
Enjoy it mate.
