You need to pick the company you are going to use to map the car and then ask them the question "which ecu do you prefer to work with". Too many people make the mistake of buying an ECU then finding a tuner.
We can do either but prefer to work with the EC1...
Yes of course because the "effective" fuel pressure can't remain constant on a returnless system. I have tried to find the data i had on the injectors but no luck so far. Also a thing to remember is that the base pressure on the meg is 3.5 bar so it makes it SLIGHTLY better and if they are 440...
Yes but if it's in the "sweet spot" it won't make much difference.
You can throw timing at them lower down and it does not do too much and unless you have corrected ALL the functions inside the ECU the car will never be the same on the road and it will more than likely knock it's tits off.
It might not be that but looking at the stock graph it's quite possible. I always find they tend to make the same curve on the stock map they are going to end up with when mapped but with more all over....
TBH though you wont feel that on the road anyway, correct me if i'm wrong?
Overlayed with another RS2 car on my dyno this car makes 7lbft more at 2500 and only 4lbft less in the dip, everywhere else is pretty close. AFR is 12.5 at that point, same as the others we mapped. I also showed Tom and James how much a full AFR difference makes, which was not a lot! Judging by...
It drives perfect as an everyday car, does about the same MPG as a stock one round town too. I think most people think it's on or off, if you drive it normal it's like any other although very different on boost.
There will be a load of pictures on our facebook soon as we had a photo shoot...
I used a roller tacho :( I ran again on gate to check and it went to 7250, I'll have to strap it harder next time as it will 100% show more power if it grips properly
I took it to 7k on that run chip, it's spinning as it comes on boost so making the run look short. It pulls to 7 and keeps revving to 7250 but as you see up top it's struggling.
If the tyres had not gone off i think it will post 525hp and 465lbft. They are rather sticky now but will be ok when...
Cams, injectors, forge cooler, intake pipe and piperx filter, built engine, GTX3071, tial flanged exhaust manifold, external bosch 044 pump with 2lt swirl pot.
I think thats about it
It looks like the stock intake and throttle body are stopping us at 511, i went up to 2.2 bar and it made 475lbft but the same power and knocked a little....
Personally i wouldnt waste my time fitting matched inlets, in terms of power i'm yet to see the gains for my own eyes. Well, more than 1hp peak that is.
