All the above is really good info! Summer beer & BBQs, solid brakes or just petrol is the best way to spend "cheap" money on these cars given that extracted power is so hilariously expensive.
However induction kits do put a smile on your face! Aim to "not loose" power as opposed to gain it...
Well that's why I was surprised, the Avons used in British GT (I think you did the GT4 class a few years back, or am I making that up) seemed to hate anything north of 90 & Dunlops in the smaller sizes look like they'd absolutely destroy the shoulder if they got anywhere near that, whereas...
Oh yeah of course, I hope I didn't come across as rude - no intent. Promise! :p
But if CS was only full of things that you & the likes of chip didn't know, then there'd be nothing in between for us mortals!
Drop cold pressures maybe 7 PSI front, 3 PSI rear (from road car 33/30)
Do 3 - 5 laps (lower lap count if you're car/driver isn't working the tyres much, higher lap count if you're working the tyres properly & getting brake temp (thus the all important wheel temp!)).
Pit & drop tyre pressures to...
Interesting thread, but it just reinforces my opinion that by far the best way to go about tyre pressures is to just forget theory & set them when hot. So many variables to account for, that theory takes too long compared to a few installation laps.
Only when you have a lot of constants (a...
I have :o But I'm going with "was curious as to the temperature addition on a road car in comparison with a race car" as opposed to "being anal" though...
Love this.
Every now and again a non sport comes along and shows that you don't have to go the 172-rep route to have a really nice looking Clio.
And with your careful thought & a bit of dedication - how much did all of that cost pre-turinis? A couple of hundred max & it looks great!
Ixel 205 110 iirc. It's actually embossed on the reverse side of the 182 cup-packed wheel centre caps.
Auto paint St Helens. £7.99 IIRC a can + very reasonable postage, next day delivery, very impressive match to the original colour.
Found them recommended by someone on here so gave them a go...
I'm almost positive Daniel will have something funny (no doubt a story about his offspring costing him hundreds on data & losing phones after one week etc) to say on this matter...
Age seems to be the thing stopping any advice from being useful yet? If it's for a teenage girl then peer...
I'm all for driving being fun & I realise a 182 won't cost you any extra, but surely the better option (since you've already got an RS Clio!) is to save £2000 on the purchase price and a significant sum of money on running costs (road tax, cheaper sized tyres, insurance etc) and get a DCI 80 -...
Sorry, but I'm going to FLOL when some innocent AA/RAC man tries to tow your car and pulls the front bumper off...
*Only read page 1 so apologies if you've mounted it properly since then*
I'm selling some Pioneer "Custom Fit" components (the ones for a Renault Clio).
13cm so a straight swap, Renault plugs on the woofer, Renault Clio fitting kit included for the tweeter.
Obviously sound quality won't be as good as similar priced 6.5"/16.5cm nor are they comparable to a £100...
1) By removing half the things that you're not willing to (EVERY interior panel, carpet, piece of trim etc) because you want it to look standard,
2) Then by replacing as much of what is left with track-spec items which are usually lighter by design (lightweight bucket seat, lightened & flocked...
The "black tabs" are actually stickers. If they're not there then the bumper has definitely had something going on - whether it's a Cat C rebuild or simply a guy who loves his paintwork and had a respray due to stone chips is up to you.
All 172 cups came with the "172 cup" detail on the...
I arrived in the morning.
Decided arctic blue is rubbish compared to all the other colours bar titanium/iceberg on my way to lunch.
Had a "quick" look at some planes.
Came back and everyone/thing had gone.
DOH! :(
P.S. Was I supposed to come & collect the food voucher/CSS13 sticker from the...
Any traders planning to turn up with a Renault CLIP? Something along the lines of £1 for each code read/deleted lol? Would make a fortune... (and be very useful)
Thanks (been cleaned about about 3 hours before hand so I should hope so haha)
Just looking through your project thread as I didn't get much of a look (paying attention to driving & all...) but it looked nice & purposeful on the road!
Afaik (as of the previous year to the one just gone) at wheatley there's:
BG FF 182 (final year engineering student)
Titanium 182 (no idea)
RB 182 cup (seems to be there most days)
You (or rather "was")
Spent all of 2nd year walking past these 182s nearly daily, knowing I'd put mine in a hedge...
Is BT05 HWM on here? RB. Trendlines. Anthracite Turinis. Stainless exhaust. About as close to perfect as an RS Clio can get IMO (just needs to be a FF not a cup!)
Saw it a while back at Halfords Cowley and recognised the plate from some old pictures on here (2009 ish maybe), then saw it at...
My face feels like it's been in a blast furnace.
Always a nice surprise to turn around and see a car from CS, especially a well developed Clio that fares well against the inevitable ridiculous power Evo/Impreza. I'll admit I did LOL at hearing "Would 'Tony Hunter' please report to Clerk of...
B3420. I was in an Arctic Blue 182, you were crossing the road back to your car.
You & I both recognised a fellow Clio RS from quite a long way away, you waved & I waved back.
The boss of the motorsport side of RS hit out a few weeks ago about not getting enough recognition for their customer engines beating Ferrari/Mercedes/etc and said the marketting department must do more.
This is probably part of the above "more."
