This would be my next step for extra grunt in my 133 if I feel the need. And if I ever get it finished as it is 🤣. I probably wouldn't need something that is geared that high though 120mph would be good for me.
The ohlins will be out of my reach financially unfortunately as they will be mega money to me. I found avo really helpful when I ran the Puma and have the avo rears I got from you to try unless there are ohlins kicking around for a grand lol.
What's wrong with the suspension? It's the main concern for the Twingo.
Argyll rally looks good and is my type of road. Looks like there are more and more closed road events
I used to do 2/3 road rallys a month at one point and some of the cars just bonkers like you say. I used to get top 10 results in a standard puma against stage cars with seats thrown in the back (I still have my twingo rear bench seat just incase!). I have seen road rally escorts going for 30k...
It's daft what people use and the money that is in some of the road rally cars. These days as long as its on injection, has a bit of carpet in the footwell and some thing that looks like it could of been a back seat strapped to the rear cage it's all good!
Yes and suspension set up by lotus. Handling was OK the engine revved but had no torque.
Lots of early evo bits bolted straight on and the floor pan was easily converted to run the full evo 4x4 setup.
There is currently a 4x4 converted one on ebay.
I had a fabia vrs mk1 when they first come out. Was good until you pushed it then it was not good. Brilliant mpg and mid range was awesome for that time and shocked a few more expensive cars. It was also back at the garage under warranty more times than I care to remember.
Also a mk2 Octavia...
Shame! Spent a lot of time around there as my dad was an engineer working for Kames fish farming so had sites at bonawe and the trout farm oposit the hydro station on Loch awe.
Now if you were to ask me about putting a zetec in a Hillman Avenger that would be me lol.
A 2.0 na Twingo would be brilliant for rallying as it would have the midrange grunt.
You are the man to go to for Twingo related stuff I think. A 2.0 na engined on would definitely be a good toy. There is a Silverstone converted for sale local to me.
Looking good as usual. Just did the brakes all round and drop links on my sons 133 them drop links worked a treat. Got them from the local motor factor that used to sponsor me for £9 each!
Being a good son he is also giving me the Twingo when he gets bored of it so happy days.
A bit unfortunate the Weather a bit s**t at the moment for a good blast to try out the tyres. Mate has taken some harness out of his rally car and probably wouldn't want much for them.
