Mx5 is a good one for them sort of events, I think they lack the suspension travel for events that ain't so smooth. Everything avaliable off the shelf for them so potentially an easier build. For them sort of events possibly converting a well built track car could be a good option also or even...
There has been plenty of good imput from all so far.
I would be tempted to build something to old group n modern day r1 specification and something you can easily get bits for.
Ford feista st150 or the newer shape zetec s would be a good shout as everything is readily available off the shelf...
Don't know what I was expecting but the costs seam a lot to hire a car. Especially as the cars are basic and won't use much in the way of consumables. There as always some nice well prepared clio track cars that wouldn't take much to passport and would be ideal in the circuit stuff.
Tbh I don't know of any good rally forums these days. I keep an eye on the British rally forum but that's it. There is always some cheap ish cars floating about and like you say they probably cost the same as 2/3 hire events.
Don't know where you are in the country but there are some cracking...
Looks brilliant that! When can I drop the Twingo off lol.
Every time you do something like that you learn more to make it easier next time! Also helps when your not fighting stubborn nuts and bolts if you copper grease them when they go back in. I don't do much with cars now but have learnt...
Excellent! I have 2 of the ball joints to change on a spare pair of arms I have so not looking forward to that now lol. Love the old Peugeot, Talbot sport sign in the garage. I used to rally an Avenger so have a soft spot for old pts stuff. Regarding wheels I always found td wheels to have good...
Oh if you wouldn't mind sending me the Volvo part number if you have it! I have some carbone Lorraine pads to try as I got them realy cheap. It would be good to find some front struts that fit as there is nothing half decent competition wise for the 133 unless you have 5k to spend.
Regarding the suspension. The front struts look similar to clio 197/200 I think from memory it would be interesting to compare them to 133 struts. I have some 200 rear coilovers to try on mine at some point. Pad choice for the laguna calipers is OK as well. 133 arb links are expensive so keep...
Ah cool. If you don't end up using the 133 shafts I will take them off your hands. If you need any measurements give me a shout as mine is just sat here under its blanket lol.
It's a good little circuit. I am 20st and was 2nd the other night the wet evens out the playing field lol. I used to go to school with the petch kids at Wolsingham.
Ah well if you want some company next time let me know as I am pretty flexible when the kids are at school.
I went karting at teesside the other night in the rain with a few and it was good fun with the lads.
Ah brilliant. If I can sell a kidney and get the Twingo mapped I will try and do something local as its only 30min away. Mate has a Darrian that needs some miles on it once the engine comes back from Ireland.
Don't blame you tbh. I rented a house to my Perents, I hadn't heard anything for a few months from them. Turns out the fucked off left the place a s**t hole. Not heard from them since. It's been 6 years now lol.
