You should move out of Lancashire... :tongueclosed:
Back to topic - As previously mentioned the stock Clio ECU isn't capable of controlling/mapping boost so you need standalone engine management.
Andy/Scoff cleverly wire the Adaptronic to the stock Renault ECU which controls all the dash/cruise...
Not sure on the Mac front, you'd need to check on fastchip's website. It's simple to do honestly! You just find it a nail-biting, scary experience knowing that you could ruin your car should it go belly up for any reason.
From my experience, the only way you can mess it up is if the laptop's battery fails, or if the cars does. It won't let you write incorrect files to the ECU iirc and Henk sends you what you need anyway!
Just take the car for a good rip beforehand whilst your laptop is on charge then for piece...
It's usually at motorway speeds when going uphill so the car senses a drop in speed and tries to compensate with input that would maintain the speed on a stock engine. But it's only going to try to compensate thinking it has the 150~bhp or so power produced at that rpm, when infact my engine...
Just a few VERY minor niggles rectifying that my OCD can no longer cope with (fuel/temp dials slightly out, boost pipe re-route etc) ) plus an oil change and a good once over by Andy to make sure everythings OK so far. Something doesn't feel quite right with it at the moment, just feels rough...
Do you find your cruise control 'surges' though?
Usually when going uphill mine seems to think "25% more power required!" so gives it that and due to the extra power it overshoots the required speed so then backs right off, then does it again, and again, wash rinse repeat. Gets sorta annoying...
Oohh I thought you meant he had a LY200, never realised you meant the 200T!! Used to see him in his LY182 quite regularly, looked really clean and unabused!!
Paul we now have 2 x 182 Titaniums, your BG 182, A flamer 172, a silver/grey 200 and a LY200T.... this photo-shoot is not to be missed!!
Ok, so some bits done on the car, none of which produced the expected results unfortunately. I bought some pipes/hoses from ASH to fit the Baileys DV26 and (Andy will kill me for this) chopped into the lovely boost piping he fitted to get a T piece in to fit the valve to. I also cut the vacuum...
I'm a big fan of AF's LSP's, especially Soul wax (even though it's a bugger to remove if left too long/applied in sunlight), Tough Coat and Finale quick detailer due to the way they leave my paint looking afterwards. I find Finale really makes the metallic flake pop.
Been tempted to buy some...
I think my organic clutch is slipping when on boost in 1st with 226BHP/207 torque though mate, drive mine when I pop to see you next month and see what you think. Seems too smooth to be wheelspin to me but you'll know better!
Take it to a garage that does MOT's and get them to check your beam alignment. I did once I'd fitted my new xenon units with stupid bright Osram bulbs.
Easiest solution.
The third Titanium I'm aware of in Blackpool now!
Mines the one that spools and flutters!
We need to sort a Blackpool mini meet for us Clio boys. JustinS Paul.M
