Cheap and Cheerful Saxo VTS ownership... 182 Sold.

I always fancied one of these, glad to hear you're happy with it after the 182! It looks loads better now it's sitting lower :approve:

    Stealth Shelf

Thanks for the replies guys, I'd not really considered the safety angle but you're right, that has put me off. I am considering just upgrading the existing speakers and getting an amp to improve the sound quality.

    Stealth Shelf

Hmm, it's possible but I was just hoping there was somewhere I could get a really good quality one off the shelf so to speak. I see caraudiosecurity have them but I'm not sure how good they'd be. Anyone have any experience of these?

    My 172 Cup ~ OEM+

Just read this thread and I must say this is spot on! ;) I really want to go the OEM+ route with mine including the HC discs and 2500s (or maybe Carbon Lorraines if the budget allows). Can I ask where you got your new gearknob from and also the bullets (were the bullets brand new or...

What is the Original Colour of 172 Cup Gearknob Decal?

Mine has faded but it looks to be dark silver (like the airbag and steering wheel decals). Any ideas what colour it is supposed to be?

    Rob's Monaco blue 172

That's looking nice now, shame about all the stuff needed doing but I bet it's feeling really tight again. :) What tyres did you put on it and where did you get the steering wheel retrimmed?

    Kinda clean ph1

Liking that, the 3/4 plate looks neat. Do you find much of a different with the strut brace in it?

The 'What MPG Do You Get?' Thread

I had 40.1 on a 2 hour motorway run but I'm back down around 28 after some spirited B road drives. Very impressed by the Cup on long trips as my 2l Mondeo diesel is only doing 44.5 :(

    Does this price sound reasonable?

So I've got a pair of Nankang Ultra Sport II's on the rear of my cup with 5mm of tread on but my fronts are 2mm and need changing soonish. I've been quoted £100 a corner (fitted) for Michelin PS3's plus £30 for alignment/tracking. Conti Contacts are £90 quid each and Toyo T1Rs are £85. I'm...

I only got mine last week but I have been driving it pretty much ever since so it could well be! :D Are there ever any meets around this way, as a new owner it would be good to have a chat with someone who knows their Clios?

A Brief History of Grime (172 Cup 'Cleanup' Project Thread) (Pic Heavy)

    Laser Tracking Question

I'm looking to get the steering wheel alignment and tracking done on my 172 Cup, can anyone tell me if I should be looking for 'laser' tracking or whether regular 4 wheel alignment is just as good? The tyre place nearby doesn't have a laser system and he told me it was a bit of a 'sales...

A Brief History of Grime (172 Cup 'Cleanup' Project Thread) (Pic Heavy)

Hey Guys, I'm fairly new to the site and having just purchased a 172 Cup last weekend from a member on here I thought I'd start a thread to track my progress with it. At the age of 32 I came to the conclusion that it was time to go out and own a few of the cars that have caught my interest...

Got bored of the Clio (///M)

Lovely motor, the red interior looks good and I totally understand about the compromise on the wheels. They're meant to handle better on the 18s and you can always get some 19s at a later stage (maybe even some CSLs?) :)

    Hi guys and girls

Nice motor, I have to say I quite like the wheels you've got on it now. :)

What do you say to people who call your car a 'girls car'?

Tell them my girlfriend refuses to drive it because the clutch is too heavy for her and the acceleration scares her ;)
