    Battery Cut Off Switch

Going slightly off topic @a17vts how have you found the powerlite battery? I'm looking at replacing my current powervamp one and had been debating either the PS09 or 20. Mines a pure track/race car so will be isolated/removed when not in use Thanks Ads

Cartek GT battery isolater in a 197

I've recently taken on the maintenance of a friends 197 track car, that's 99% race ready. The last bit is the battery isolater, a Cartek GT, which needs to run a power feed to the ECU. Unless I've missed something obvious on here I don't seem to be able to find any wiring diagrams/ECU pinouts...

    Trackcar doorcards

To be fair now I've bolted them in fully they don't, admittedly my car is an out and out track/race car so its far from quiet to begin with. I had thought about using some draught excluder or similar but so far I don't see the need. I've literally only bolted them onto the doors using slightly...

    Trackcar doorcards

Mine came with the logo yes, not sure if they all do, but I'd have thought Simon would happily pass on a couple of extras anyway ? typically I was up at Castle Combe yesterday racing, unwilling be passing through Wilts at some point in the next couple of days as I'm taking the car to get some...

    Trackcar doorcards

I've had a couple of sets and they're brilliant. Latest ones are aluminium with the material handles, really really pleased with how they've come out. I'm only 20 minutes over the old Severn bridge if you wanted to have a look for yourself Simon who runs @Track-car-doorcards is spot on also...

    Advance 048’s

No problems, if you're after the cheapest then yes it will be a case of constantly checking online. Occasionally there'll be some cheap on eBay, otherwise you're looking at Demon Tweeks/JJC, Mr tyre motorsport, JD motorsport, camskill etc etc. As for 'E' marked (I'm assuming that's what you're...

    Advance 048’s

I use them and yes they are very good, in cold conditions they take a lap or two to warm up properly (as any track tyre does) but otherwise they're spot on. I keep pressures to around 28/29 psi hot, anymore than that and I find they over inflate and cause uneven wear on fronts As for prices...

Queston for those who've fitted PMS brace and top mountsmounts

My strut bar seemed to be slightly too long when I bought the kit, and the car has had a 'love tap' with one of the walls at Silverstone, I'll report back tomorrow when I've taken everything apart

FAO Those With Existing Safety Devices Roll Cage, Msa Eligibilty

Mines been fine @donnylad, had no issue in scrutineering whatsoever. It's comfortable (well as comfortable as a HANS can be) and arguably easier to get my harness sitting right than it was with the old cage

    NEWBIE RACER REQUIRING ADVICE

Good to see you on here Chris, you'll always get plenty of advice/tips and hints. I'd love to be able to help financially but at the moment I've got a big enough headache with our own racing budgets lol. I am only an hour down the road though and always more than willing to lend a hand if...

    Replacing Subframe Nuts / Cages

Removing the old ones is by far the hardest bit, new ones do literally just pop into place. I had a snapped subframe bolt and the other 3 all had damaged cages when trying to undo them, I found it easiest to attack the cage with a hammer and punch and then get a suitable spanner in, a little...

    Mk3 wiper problem

All other settings work as they should, not sure if it has auto wipers (has auto lights, so I'd hazard a guess that the wipers have an auto function too) don't have clip but I do have a relatively decent diagnostics setup, admittedly I hadn't thought to see how far I can get into the wiper...

    Mk3 wiper problem

Afternoon all, bought the Mrs a 2009 mk3 1.2 tce (last if the pre facelift) yes I know it's not a sport, as a work hack, since buying the intermittent/auto wiper has never worked. I know the wiper stalks have a history of burning/melting but I don't think that's happened as all other functions...

Securing the clocks/dials when you only have the upper dash

I cut up the lower dash and kept the bit the clocks secure too and a bit in the middle to mount my epas ecu onto as well, also gave the upper dash a little more rigidity, it's not the best photo but hopefully you get the idea

Yeah I'm on here Russ, I had planned to have a wander around and say hello to a few people but things didn't quite go to plan in the end. ABS is definitely coming out, it was on the list of things to be done over the winter but that's being brought forward now. Fingers crossed the body shop...

Silverstone weekend 28/29th July Where do I start with this one? I've never set foot around Silverstone so I was both excited and a little nervous for this one. With the ever changing weather forecast getting progressively worse as the days ticked round it became obvious that we'd be getting...

    Heater/dash in race car.

I took a multi meter to the plug to find a permanent 12v power feed (one of the thick red wires from memory) and then extended it into the cabin, through a switch and back out to the plug on the blower motor. Mine is now either off or on max, and permanently directed to the screen Ads

The easy way to Sound Deadening and Tar Removal

Yeah seems to be a more flexible/rubbery adhesive, I know from experience that Autoglym tar & adhesive remover doesn't touch it. I really should attack whats left before I go fitting the roof scoop that's arrived :)

Door locks/ central locking on a race car

Just had a quick scan now, until I get the time to have a proper read ? out of interest what did you have to do with regard to hinges on the fibreglass doors? I'd it a case of cutting then off your old doors and re using or can you purchase replacements?

Door locks/ central locking on a race car

I'm lucky that mine has key locks on both sides from factory, so I just lock it using the key. Do both fibreglass doors have the recess moulded in for the lock barrel? If so I'd buy a pair off eBay and do it that way, probably easier than anything else
