Ah ok, It was the way solid ones worked that prompted me to ask the question actually, i assumed the standard top mount would work in a similar fashion and remain static.

I always thought the bearing under the rubber doughnut rotated and everything above that stayed static.

Possibly a stupid question but I havnt noticed it before, but should the top hats rotate in a circular motion when the steering is turned, I always thought they didnt rotate with the steering.

Anyone who uses their 172 on track with B14's measure the height they have them set to? Looking for an idea to set the height as a starting point for a nice balanced track set up. I know when they are set too low it can have an adverse affect on the handling. Car will be fitted with Camber...

I have fitted B14 Coilovers to my 172 Cup and noticed when tightening down the top cup with the 21mm nut that on the drivers side I have about 10mm of thread from the shock poking above the 21mm nut but on the passenger side the thread is pretty much flush with the 21mm nut. There are no knocks...

I've got Sportlines at the mo on Koni shocks purely for track use, they seem a bit soft and give a bit too much body roll than I'd like. Will Apex springs be better from people in the know or have used both on track? Not bothered about how they are on the road.

What did you have before as a handling comparison?

Thats a shame, I feel your pain as our alternator went at Rockingham in April so we managed till just after lunch. I think we were the only Cup there. I saw a few 182's and 172's but no other Cups from what I remember.

Hi I have noticed that one of the wires on my Intake Air Temp sensor on the intake manifold have rubbed through the outer rubber sheath. I am going to cut out the damaged bits and solder/heatshrink in new wire. Question is what sort of wire will I need? A quick google has thrown up different...

If you've replaced the wishbones then the ball joints will be new as they come with ball joints already. My money is on steering rack bushes.

Which piper cross filter did you go for? I have the same silicon hose set up and need a new filter.

I would go for Carbon Lorraine RC5+ over the DS2500. Much better pad and costs the same. I was very unimpressed with the DS2500.

Take out the Crankshaft sensor (two 10mm bolts) and give the contact point a bit of a rub with some wet and dry paper.

Not yet, will look at some fog light ducts in the future though.

The fluid is already sorted, we had it at Bedford last time but I've done a full change since then for some fresh stuff.
