Your far better having new flexi's welded in........unless you can find a really low milage manifold, but even then might not last. I did swop mine for a low milage mani, but i got lucky they are like rocking horse s**t, and nearly all of them show some sign's of the problem begining IMO.
A smart repair, is exactly what you / they don't want, you want someone in control conditions to give it the time it needs to be spot on once again. Its a new car , your at fault, repair it properly or go through insurance.
Jamsport, waited along time for it to be developed, but i can honestly say its spot on, near perfect. Just bare in mind the AP Racing discs are £200+ per side, when you need to replace them, but they are worth every pennie.
Brembo HC are way way way over rated.......they are pretty much entry level OEM discs really.....end thread. I warped / chewed up no end of discs including Ktec ones . If you want discs that will take constant abuse.........AP Racing all the way, im on the wilwood bell and rotor setup now, and...
Yes do that, have you wheels blasted and pitted to living hell, then caked in powder coat 3"inches deep, the kerbing / defects painted over and the gloss as dull as a badgers arse, but this is still preferable to a DIY refurb 2bh.
Have them done professionally!!, by the time you work out your time, the hassle, the mess, the finish being no where near as good, the paint being far far less durable, having no come back if they dont last, its a no brainer IMO.
When you add all the little bits up you'll buy to do this, it...
Yep that G3 Paste should also work, id use the 1500 correction myself, But just dont go OTT, its a harsh cut, if its factory paint on that bumper it will be thin, esp at the edges.
Yep its nuts i agree, absolutely off the scale stupid, i only do it day in, day out.......and unless you want to do the proper job and then work for nothing......thats the price......for a bumper that needs work before painting. It allows for paying your dues to the tax man, and the sort of...
Get yourself a decent compound i suspect it wil be out within a few minutes of some hand polishing action lol.........
http://www.rupestool.com/p/us/en/0222867250392 (1500 scratch)..........i use this daily after 2000 grit nib removal, a minute or 2, by hand if that, its out or by DA...
Is it a noticable scratch? can you feel it with your nail? from the picture that really should reduce / come out by hand no problems......with a decent compound.
Dont tell me you used SRP.......you'll need something with a bit more ballz than that......i highly recommend the Rupes...
If you want a quality job, you'll be looking at atleast £250 +VAT just to paint it and take out the defects, and then by the hour to remove and refit.
Arctic isnt a problem colour.
Ask for Mark @ Autopaint St Helens, tell him you want 205-110 we use them for this colour and others, superb customer service, we've been using them for years with no issues.
Im still keeping an eye on this project, superb as anyways. On a side note.....for anyone interested in switch boxes, and labeling for race cars, we can laser cut / engrave front panels from acrylics, woods etc , & thermark steels & metals (in black, durable not paint). I/We can create the...
Henry is absolutely superb, had dysons etc etc, but Henry tops the lot of them, he takes any job on, even dust out the fire without clogging and other stuff which absolutely destroys your bagless vacumes. Massive capacity bag, cheap to buy and replace.........no contest.
Ive got 1 for home, and...
Hi Chris, a bonnet can be had for less than that including VAT, someones rinsing you. (Part supplied by you) Bonnet only, proper front & back spray job ~£250- 300+VAT, one side only £150-200+VAT.
Match will depend heavily on sprayers experience and the colour in question, blending the wings...
You can indeed mix 2k Lacquer + Base Coat, thats how tinted lacquers are done etc etc, but you have to keep the proportions of base to lacquer low, else its possible it can crack or have other undesirable effects. With 1K Lacquers its absolutely fine to mix base and lacquer in any proportion...
2bf, if you breath on those handles with anything even the slightest bit abrasive they will end up bare plastic, its poor renault build quality, they arent even primed and its a single stage paint, which is absolutely micro thin........i dont really blame the car wash, id be over the moon it...
If you want them painted, we do them, and whats more, i can send you a set of replacement painted covers, and you can trade in your old ones.....thus no need to send yours off to be repainted.
Id stick with 3M myself, 2bh im not a massive fan of the plastic sheeting esp for areas that are going to get more than a flutter of over spray, you cant beat brown paper really for that. Normally we use the 3M sheeting or equal, then brown paper over areas that will receive paint over spray...
Re: 200 Paint fell off. f**k SAKE.
Yep stuff a sticker on it, will stop crap getting under it and help to stop it lifting further. (Bare in mind, renault might wanna see the damage tho.......let them see it first! as pulling the sticker off will remove more paint probably)
Go on you know you wanna have a guy in a tent , you could then meet him at a field, have a beer and a BBQ while he fixes your car in the p*ssing rain lol.
Its a bugger, it will no doubt have been repaired at the dealership from new, little knock on the car transporter usual BS that happens to so many new cars and is covered up. It boils my p*ss, its hardly a *new* car if its been repaired at some point.....alot of the factory painting processes...
