Thanks! Yeah it is in very good condition, I like to keep my things in good nick so trying to look after it.
Currently Im running A048s in the dry, Medium compound front, Soft on the rear. And then my wet setup is Toyo R1Rs which Im yet to use, however I have been told they are a very good wet...
Thanks a lot mate
Cheers pal, yeah Im really happy with how its coming along now, getting more towards where I'd like it to be.
Next plans spec-wise are to move onto full slicks now Ive running aggressive camber and suspension that will actually make the most of them, and then after that Id...
Latest update:
Removed the old front brakes, and while I was at it gave the hubs a wire brushing and coat of Hammerite as they were looking a little worse for wear.
Fitted the new front discs, DS1.11 pads and refurbed the callipers.
Gave the brake system a bleed with some fresh RBF600...
Now my car is a lot lower, on track under hard cornering my tyre is catching the bracket which the front bumper attaches to.
I have no front arch liners as I have already removed them. I dont want to raise the front as the car has had the alignment and corner weighting done, and I also like...
No, what I mean is, I had ds1.11s and brembo HCs previously and had no issues.
Ive since binned the old pads and discs, and bought new discs ands pads off RTR, and these discs look like this after 1 use.
The old discs were wearing a lot more evenly
That's what I cant understand. Plus ive used these pads with my old discs for 10+ trackdays with nice even wear.
To be honest the discs I threw in the skip are in better condition than these!
I did a trackday yesterday with brand new Brembo HC discs and ds1.11s and now have deep score marks on the discs.
Ive driven the same way on the same setup and never had this.
So
1) should I be alarmed?
2) will this reduce braking due to the surface being very uneven?
3) Will my pads get...
I need to sift through all the gopro footage. I had some issues which were quite off putting, had some major rubbing on the front during hard cornering, which was very unsettling, had to really back off through cascades.
And then I started to get some knocking on the rear. With both of those...
Having a passenger makes a huge difference in these cars. When I had someone in my car yesterday I was struggling to shake a 182 on cup shocks and springs and Ad08s.
Really feel the difference carrying someone around.
When it was corner weighted recently it weighed 1003kg with half a tank (ish?) of fuel.
Its had an RStuning map. 179bhp on the dyno.
Id like to see the difference with a diff. And slicks.
That speed brake down is very interesting! Didn't realise you could do that. Speeds look very similar comparing. Looks like the only real difference is through Druids.
Not sure why Im doing 0 at shell oils though 😂 Must have lost satellites
Hi all,
Did a trackday at Oulton yesterday, and used a timing app (Racechrono) for the first time.
Just wondering what lap times people are getting and their car spec, just for some comparison and to get an idea of whats possible.
My best was a 2:05.56.
Brief car spec is coilovers, A048s...
On the rear, the idea is you can fit different spacers to control how much drop you want.
You have a 5mm and a 10mm spacer, or you can do the same as me and fit no spacer on the rear. Gives a good drop. You just need to fit one of the plastic bushes at the bottom of the spring so you've not got...
Hmm I see. I might need to run different settings then as Ive got firmer springs on the front than the rear. However, thinking about it, the AST rears are a one-piece assembly aren't they, so less leverage on the spring. Not sure what an 11kg rear spring equates to on a separate damper and...
Hi all,
Shortly I will be doing a trackday at my local track (Oulton) with new BC coilovers AND a more aggressive geo setup (increased camber all round, more front caster), so want to ease back into driving the car, as I know it will feel very different to the old setup.
Running 10kg front...
I started removing the airbag ecu and the wiring from under the seats, and in the process of pulling out the wires I must have stripped off one of the connectors off the wires, and now the airbag light is on.
So can I ditch the ecu and all wires that come from it, and use a resistor in the...
As my old radiator was held on by jubilee clips, I don't seem to have some rubber feet which apparently sit on the bottom of the radiator.
Does anyone have a pic of what they are? Just wondering if I could make something similar. I'm imagining that they are a rubber disc that slides onto the...
