are you planning on running the cat on the car again? i just use the olive adapter you get with the milltek system its a £2 adapter just to get it through its MOT then its straight back on with the decat
The standard valves die when they get clouted by the piston because the valves been open at the incorrect time, im pretty sure a supertech valve wouldnt like getting smashed by the piston either and probably bend or worse. I definately wouldnt be getting Supertech valves for a lightly modified...
i never saw the point of supertech valves, the oem ones have been proven good enough across a multitude of builds, that and the fact they are ridiculously expensive
do you suspect it was put back together incorrectly as to how prematurely it dropped a valve only a few hundred miles after and without giving it the beans? I was under the impression that you needed the catcams stiffer valve springs when fitting an aftermarket cam to the 1*2s , im pretty sure...
main issue with the jc5's is being rushed into gears , thats alot of the reason why they break getting slammed into gear on track etc, that and the fact that people dont change the gearbox oil, or they do it every 20k or something, when they all weep oil from factory anyway.
a decent gearbox oil...
Honestly it's a really hard shout, if the cars up to spec and in a healthy position to be boosted, and you can potentially do it cheaply, absolutely. Even though its only 230 bhp which isnt really considered huge power in todays age at all, theres not many things that can keep up with a boosted...
being nothing but problems is down to the car, is it not? Have you never heard of anyone buy a standard n/a clio 172/182 thats been nothing but problems?
If you buy a pig of a 1*2 bolting a turbo on will probably help you identify a problem sooner rather than later.
Buy a 1*2 and perform a...
Met @Johnc172 today at brands, can confirm, rapid. 😂
Great read through this thread, i wasn't aware it had such history! i always wondered what happened to 519, i was absent from Clio ownership at the time, whats even worse though is clioturbo trying to get their scummy mits on it...
To have a mint low mileage 172 cup in 10 years , you need to buy one now with low miles and mint (obviously)
The OP doesn't have the budget for it. Buy a clean lowish mileage 182 FF now with your budget and look after it, because in 10 years a mint condition 182 FF with 50k miles is still gunna...
I would say definitely go for a 182 FF with that money then, at that budget it'll probably be a modified high mileage 172 Cup, but you could get a lower mileage well looked after 182 in one of the more desirable colours like Racing Blue for the added pinch of appreciation
Im interested as to whether the 172 Cup would actually be an investment , at the price they go for now plus 10 years of ownership costs, thats the belts and dephaser twice, 10 years of MOTs and servicing costs etc. The V6 and Trophy i think undoubtedly would be an investment though. I recon the...
i dont know if they will fit, best bet is to call a b14 distributor and ask them.
The ride height is in the springs even if you ran no adjusters youd still be monster truckin, i believe they drop around 40mm max you could get a custom spring made up to go lower but for it to be optimal you'd...
I was wrong, its not a WRC replica it was the 2015 VW Golf Racer , similar to the Seat Leon Cupra cup car. Raced against it in some form of Touring Car championship possibly german touring cars.
Are you more into the unfunctional stance life then?
Not really my cuppa T but its ok, i wont...
Fair enough you got me, Clio V6's are the exception although ''kind'' of a different car. Ive never really seen a v6 replica that actually looks good though
