I had Virgin TV Drive and Virgin Internet 20mb.
I kept the Virgin Internet but swapped the TV to Sky HD.
Best decision I ever made. Virgin TV is terrible in comparison. The boxes are slow, buggy, there are hardly any HD channels and you get loads of other channels on Sky that I never had before.
Ok right.
It never told me to do this (iPod has barely any instructions) but a web search revealed all.
I had to authorise the computer via a thing in the itunes menu. (thanks for telling me Apple - w*nkers)
Did that and transferred the songs. Says I have authorised one computer out of 5...
Yeah but how the hell am I going to get my legally purchased songs from today on to my iPod!!!
I am not burning them to CD and then ripping them off again cos I'd lose quality. That was why I bought a feckin iPod in the first place and not another brand! What a load of sh*t! The PS3 of MP3 players!
Ok
ALL of the songs that refuse to transfer are FULLY LEGAL PURCHASES FROM ITUNES.
Also they were all purchased on THIS COMPUTER. I have not restored, formatted or done anything to this computer since I downloaded them. Some I purchased and downloaded 30 minutes ago...
Ok my new iPod Nano arrived.
I have imported my tunes into itunes - some of which I got years ago via file sharing, some I got from ripping CD's and others that I legitimately purchased via iTunes on this very PC and some of them I actually purchased today.
When I go to sync my ipod it reports...
Well Ive gone for a nano as I only have 3GB of music and want something small.
Also got a set of those headphones. I played safe and paid £17 to get them from Amazon proper (not market place) as from what I have read it sounds like load of fakes are doing the rounds on ebay etc.
I want an iPod. Had a go on a few mates and really liked the interface etc.
Only problem is the bass. Even with the boost option on it is absolute sh*te compared to my Sony Ericsson phone for example.
Does anyone else get better bass by using different headphones and if so what sort/how much...
Ah I saw Zulu on one of the HD Movie channels last night and was very impressed with the quality. Some of the panoramic scenes were absolutely stunning. I think that was the first time I have really been impressed with something I have seen on there. Looked like it was filmed yesterday.
When I buy one I will do so in the form of a PS3. I don't see myself buying hardly any disks but may rent a few plus I can play the few PS3 exclusives that interest me.
I would definitely NOT buy a standalone Blu Ray player though. I wouldn't use it enough to justify it.
Im in the "its good but not that good" camp.
DVD offered a good picture quality improvement over VHS but also no messing around with rewinding and fast forwarded, quality degrading over time and tapes getting chewed up etc.
HD DVD is a bit more questionable as it doesn't do anything that DVD...
I like it but then I have 4GB of ram, spec'd up the CPU and got a decent graphics card.
To be honest though it is obviously using a lot more power than XP as my new machine runs no faster than my far less powerful XP PC.
So the question is, are the fancy graphics worth the extra power...
Yeah I had a hell of a job getting one with Optical inputs. I don't really need all the others but a couple of optical inputs are essential to connect your Sky and games consoles up. Why on earth don't they all have optical inputs? I mean are the makers r*tards or something? Do they think you...
This is terribly unfair on Microsoft! As someone else has said they have faced complaints of being anti-competitive by bundling software in with Windows (e.g. Mediaplayer) which then gives consumers little reason to examine alternatives on the market.
The EU have been trying to clamp down and...
LOL thats what they all say ;)
Have to admit I am wondering whether it is worth having AVG at all, all it does is increase boot up times whilst it downloads updates.
My advice is to do a system (factory) restore as it should be a 100% solution and give you peace of mind. I wouldn't mess about...
Jesus and these are the people that are deciding/choosing the future medium on which movies will be distributed! Intelligent consumers lol.
Just like the plonkers that saddled us with VHS for 20 years!
Are you guys seriously saying that you can't find the option on Xbox 360 to make it load up straight to dashboard and as opposed to launching the disk?
Tablet PC's, 3G phones, Minidisk, 3DO, CD-I, PS3 and Gizmondo it sure is unusual for technology companies to fall out of touch with consumer desires and to make mistakes or run down a dead end alley.
How many people make video calls on Cellphones? In a few years time how many will be watching...
Firstly I don't know what exactly you plan on doing with your images so any minute differences maybe irrelevant.
If I were you I'd ask myself if the processing done by the camera was preventing me from making optimal use of the image.
E.g. is excessive noise reduction processing ruining the...
It is all such b****cks. Give it 2 years and flash memory cards will exceed the capacity of the Blu Ray and HD DVD disks you can get at the moment just as they have already done with DVD's.
As I say you pay 50% more for something with negligable extra capacity. HD DVD can support a movie and...
I am not sure about that.
People said that Audio CD's would never die. Ok they don't look like dying but it doesn't exactly seem far fetched anymore to suggest that the time will come when all music is delivered as a digital file - whether that be online or in a shop.
How long before you can...
Yup as I said before the quality is identical with both. The only difference is that one costs a lot more than the other.
Quite why people chose the most expensive I don't know. Sadly those muppets have now commited us all to buying the most expensive. Nice one.
Roll on the next recession as...
I have Sky HD and regularly watch HD movies on there and to be honest I have to be the one to point out that the emperor has no clothes.
All I can say is big deal. I am not particularly amazed by it. I find HD is important for gaming (mainly FPS games as opposed to say driving games). For...
I am not buying either.
If Blu Ray wins I will never buy it.
There were two formats that from the average consumers point of view offered absolutely identical quality. If you did the Pepsi challenge using the same TV, 99.999999% of people couldn't tell which was a Blu Ray film and which was...
Thats a pretty big bedroom if you can get 3m from the TV although it could just be how you have it all laid out? I am 2m from mine and it is a 32. It is about right but a 37 would be nice.
Given the distance you are at I'd go for the 37.
However if money is tight don't get a lesser quality 37...
