Ignoring dk's poor attempt at humour at trying to sell you a £150 more expensive camera with poorer high ISO noise control ;)
Jessops is the cheapest major store, generally very competitive with bodies...
£649...
I'd never worry about something like that. I appreciate that a few pros need absolute image quality, but there is no point pixel peeping for the sake of it. As long as it looks good at the biggest size you would ever print it, that's good enough, in my opinion.
£600 crop-sensor camera and...
I love Top Gear, but I doubt it would be difficult to dish some dirt on them as well if somebody really wanted to. On the plus side with TG, at least anyone with half a brain knows it's mostly - brilliantly - staged.
Did you see the RS vs. R26R split screen? Whilst I'm not doubting the...
7 million people watch Top Gear every week, the vast, vast majority are regular joes. Everyone in my office watches it, the majority of which own people carriers or don't even generally 'like' cars. I speak to a woman weekly about TG who didn't even notice when I replaced my black Dynamique with...
Let be honest though, with the audience figures we're talking about with Top Gear...almost nobody would be interested. There are far more iconic cars that have had hot versions throughout the ages that would be at the front of the queue if they were ever going to do something like that (the Ford...
Just waiting for my numbers to come up and I will do a 3rd test to make sure, missus wants an RS (green), I want an R26R (black on black). Nice way to spend £50k.
If I seriously had the money for the initial outlay, probably a Vee for a year then sell up and get a 197 Cup or something.
Not sure if I could afford to run the Vee long-term, but I'm also guessing I wouldn't want to give it up after a year either.
Evo had the 200 Cup about 2 seconds quicker around Bedford than the Trophy, didn't they? Different days so different temps/conditions etc, but you would assume that's a big enough margin to discount ambient changes.
If anyone saw the one on the hill at Goodwood, and has experienced them in 'real life', do they really pop and bang that much?
At the FoS even at 40mph it sounded like a hardcore gravel warrior (in fact, the actual rally cars in attendance didn't even sound that extreme, aside from the...
I'm amazed there aren't more rich people around who wouldn't be incredibly tempted by that, it's been for sale for ages. Much like the McLaren GTR that is still for sale at DK, if I had a few million in the bank I just couldn't resist.
I guess when most people get rich taste goes out of the...
Oddly enough I've been assembling my 'dream garage' in my mind recently so was on PH having a nosey.
My childhood dream (factory was 2mins from my house), been in a few and absolutely love them...

Cant wait for the banter after this, every argument in the book is going to be rolled out - even though in reality it's absolutely irrelevant! I'm sure driving style, the 200 being tight (win or lose) and of course the all important cosmetic concerns to be rolled out on CS ;)
On the plus...
Well under budget, but the Panasonic TZ-3 would be my choice, my folks, in-laws, bro-in-laws and cousin all have one, none of them have a bad word to say about them really.
Compact, massive zoom, wide-angle, it does pretty much everything, and does it very well.
150 liked it from day one on here? Liars!
Much like the 182 Trophy and pretty much every model going, it got hammered when photos were released, and was still getting hammered when the 5* reviews were flying in.
Sweet...

The other guy was a pro shooting from press positions, pleased to see mine don't look too out of place in the feature gallery (which are my shots interspersed with his)
Wow, great read. Price isn't too bad really, considering that's everything including fuel, tolls etc.
I'm sure I'm not the only one having read this and now really really wanting to do something similar!
I was hoping to offer some constructive criticism, but I can't, really. The side-on panning is top notch, and the rally shots are full of atmosphere. I can't really work out how you did so much in a day, to be honest!

Me and my beast on the far right :)
Lots of great shots but the close-up of Nick Mason is my favourite, looks like a happy chap.
Where the last batch of action shots taken (cars travelling right to...
I always felt it made a difference when I had everything from the rear out, whether that was real of it just felt quicker...it doesn't matter, feeling like you're going quicker than you are isn't a bad thing.
I also felt my Cup acted quite a bit differently on low fuel, quite skittish compared...
Yup, I think Sandra Bullock was/is there with him all weekend as well. Amazing truck, 1 metre of suspension travel apparently, cost over $1m to design/build, it just drove over things like jumps like they were not even there, stupidly fast as well.
