Can anyone recommend an R8 Specialist in the South-West?

I'd say MRC or TTS. You'll need someone with experience of them and the right equipment to sort out the electronic clutch actuation

    Toastfrenzy's Tin Top, some say...........

not much, mostly balancing drillings as it was a fair bit out, and a skim of the friction face as it was covered in hot spots and low patches Block is honed, chemical cleaned, and I attacked it with a wire brush on a drill then some black paint last night

172/182 inlet manifold top part head scratching session!

yes block that nipple. if it still has a vacuum leak you may need to trim a corner off, where the 172 plenum used to bolt through to the post on the breather plate

    Piper cams kit

not massively different, torque is better with 421s/438s but not by a huge margin. Horsepower curve is remarkably similar

    Piper cams kit

always were a good profile (piper are very good at this on a lot of enignes) but now they've fixed the rattle it's a big deal. Results were outstanding, better than I could have predicted

How much thread should i have on spax rsx top nut

you need to get rid of the spacer that they supply (about 15mm long Piece of tube) I've told them it's not needed, don't know why it's in there at all

    dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg43+

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco you may need it adjusted in CLIP. Some seem to use ABS as primary speed input, and some use the speed sensor (even when both are fitted it's not always consistent)

    dmallett's indecisive clio thread! Monaco ph2 pg1+, Titanium ph1 pg31+, PB ph1 pg43+

Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco Speed sensor is about £25 brand new. I'll order one now if you're going to come over next week. 5 minutes to fit it max, just pull and it comes out.

Odyssey ph1 172 pure track car. No tax discs here........

She runs!! Sounds a bit like a superbike when you blip the throttle. Only done enough to make it idle so far. Quite looking forward to seeing what it does on the rollers now.

    not getting up to temperature

it would be difficult, there's no oil temp sensor Only revving to 6k doesn't sound like cold limiter to me, that would be at 6.8k. I had one in doing this last week, and a set of sparkplugs fixed it (It had bosch plugs fitted) If it's still doing it then a thermostat is well overdue in most...

    Differences?

53/04 reg was crossover for RS inlets its random which do and don't
  27. D

Can I put an AFR/wideband sensor here...?

put it this way, if you mount it close, you might get away with it, it you mount it further away, it will definitely be safer
