not from anyones fault, just too many loose ends for Rhys once he's got it back. To be honest, sod doing that trip without at least a week or 2 of regular use as a shakedown
not much, mostly balancing drillings as it was a fair bit out, and a skim of the friction face as it was covered in hot spots and low patches
Block is honed, chemical cleaned, and I attacked it with a wire brush on a drill then some black paint last night
yes block that nipple. if it still has a vacuum leak you may need to trim a corner off, where the 172 plenum used to bolt through to the post on the breather plate
always were a good profile (piper are very good at this on a lot of enignes) but now they've fixed the rattle it's a big deal. Results were outstanding, better than I could have predicted
Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco
you may need it adjusted in CLIP. Some seem to use ABS as primary speed input, and some use the speed sensor (even when both are fitted it's not always consistent)
Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco
Speed sensor is about £25 brand new. I'll order one now if you're going to come over next week. 5 minutes to fit it max, just pull and it comes out.
She runs!! Sounds a bit like a superbike when you blip the throttle. Only done enough to make it idle so far. Quite looking forward to seeing what it does on the rollers now.
it would be difficult, there's no oil temp sensor
Only revving to 6k doesn't sound like cold limiter to me, that would be at 6.8k. I had one in doing this last week, and a set of sparkplugs fixed it (It had bosch plugs fitted)
If it's still doing it then a thermostat is well overdue in most...
