if you want to run non-VVT, you need a non-VVT inlet cam. I've no idea why you'd want to do it though, it's so easy to control switching it at the right point, there's nothing but down-sides to removing it.
I've seen speed sensor fault come up several times on cars with no gearbox sensor fitted. sometimes there's even the plug on the loom there but no hole in the gearbox. When this has happened there's been no symptoms, just a code. I believe it's Renault using up old looms and ECUs, basically just...
umm, it's all in that thread. Low mileage bottom end, and ported the crap head to be better than a standard 172 one. Should be doing cams in it soon too so potential for a good result
2 weeks ago I'd have said you were completely wrong, however I've had mine on coilovers for a little while now, and really got to stretch it's legs yesterday. SO much fun!!!
I think that's going to be more down to not replacing oil pump after a big end failure. There's no good reason for a regrounbd crank not to work absolutely perfectly

I've just sorted out a warranty job on rears. Logged the claim 7 days ago, hand delivered today and sorted in 1 hour. Very easy. I'd suggest next time you buy anything, buy from someone who provides the best service, not lowest internet price.
Rears have now been redesigned to be more...
Makes the most difference on a ph1 which has dreadful quality castings. maybe 5-6bhp. The rest of the time, you're really trying to improve the midrange
doesn't help having thin stems with friction welded heads, but worn valve guides can contribute by applying side load to the valve head, also bouncing off the rev limiter is a bad idea, IMO you're getting valve bounce, and then uncontrolled slamming shut.
it's advanced software. If you've used map3000 (omex) before then you'll be familiar with a lot of how it works, but there's a hell of a lot more there if you look.
Typical ignition mapping screen....
