Excellent. Will post results any time this year; I've got no schedule as I'm in no rush as I am saving for a Mortgage. Will I need to uprate my engine internals? Last thing I want is to snap a rod! 160 Foot Pounds/160BHP safe for this engine as I believe it is 110/ Foot Pounds standard/100BHP...
Spot on, was having this issue with my Mark 2 1.2 before I smashed it up. It is likely to get worse as I had to wheel spin my car at one point to unstick it. See if someone can sort the brake shoes out for you or have they been roughed up?
Thanks for the feedback guys.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing; its such a small engine and a K04 would make me think its a bit overkill. The issue is though that the standard TCE turbo runs out of puff after 4k RPM (I get 155 Foot Pounds which is lovely at 2.5K RPM), when will the K03s run...
Hi, as title suggests; what will I be looking at. I know someone else who has achieved 180 BHP and 180 foot pounds of torque balanced with a K04 but I am looking for a faster spooling turbo with a good kick rather than waiting for it to spool every time as it is such a small engine. Would a K03s...
VXR's are a joke anyway and I'm already laughing at them for just existing.
My mates 1.2 Corsa with '85' BHP is the slowest peice of poop I've ever driven in my life. Felt like 13 seconds to 60, a bus is quicker. The VXR has been proven to be better in the straights but that's just the turbo...
155 Foot Pounds Maximum @ 2,500 RPM;
Goes on to make 145-140 @ 4,000 RPM
Drops off at 4,500-5,000 which will be regained with a K03s in time.
I really dislike that Torque drop off so much so you can feel it in the car. Will be fitted in 3 months with a new intercooler and then I am going to...
With road driving yes :) I don't know? I just picked it up when I just passed my test, I just found it was one less thing to concentrate on. If I come to a hill, Ill neutral it and just use my brake.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a new or fairly new Megane 265 engine or have I got to go looking around scrappies for one? I know they are fairly new, but do Renault just sell them willy nilly too?
I've never used engine braking. To be honest, I've never actually heard any of my Clio's on a slow down, I've always ALWAYS taken it out of gear and neutralled it with the clutch disengaged. I feel like theres one less thing I have to worry about and I have more control of the car if an accident...
Anyone know one that is coming up after the New Year or close by? Looking to see some 2.0l 182's as I'll be doing the whole track day car thing after another year in Uni. I want to see what all the fuss is about. I'll admit, I'm a member of this forum, who hasn't actually been in a 2.0l Clio...
Sorry for thread stealing mharvey but.
Dan, If I rag it in 1st and change at 6,000 then go straight in to 2nd the pull is phenomenal compared to starting off in plain old 2nd and then at 4,500 I hit limp mode. But If I start in 2nd and pull to 6,000 I have no issues with overboost? Going...
Change your fuel pump as I hear the flat spots on the 197 get worse as the car needs more air. I'm not sure if a remap can just fix that for you though or if you actually need bigger injectors and a better pump though?
I would say overboost but you don't have a turbo? Maybe the MAF targets too low for what the car is putting out now. I've got an issue with mine that if I hit 4,500 then I go in to limp mode and I need to key off and key on again. Its due to my MAF targets being too low and the car saying 'Oh...
Ah your another one of those 'Rude f***s' that this forum has. No, it's just gone off topic. It has already been answered on the first page and you had no reason to reply.
No, I don't maintain 6,500 going in to the next gear as that's my limiter! I use the accelerator to "guess" where the revs are if the clutch was engaged going in to the next gear. Sometimes its lovely and smooth sometimes it's not, down to experience really isn't it?
