get a jack with a bigger saddle. You want something at least 100mm diameter. If you spread the load properly it's not an issue. Small saddle jacks like those sold in Halfords are crap
I've driven all 3 mentioned variants on track at Bedford. I'd say it comes down to more than even the driver skill, but what the driver feels is comfortable to go quickly in. I like mk1s for the lower seating position, but the column being non adjustable height is awkward. Ph1 172 is a cracking...

I've seen an average of 6-8bhp gains, but more on engines in a higher state of tune (cams etc)
Non AC 197 cup setup would be the best bet, then there's no messing with belts and tensioner differences. it uses a dummy pulley in place of the AC, but all pulleys in the same place. I think it would work the same.
It's meant to be a mini tablet!! They do the S3 if you want a normal phone. the S-pen is for specific tasks, quite clever if you need that kind of thing
do you have small hands/fingers? Touchscreens have got so much easier to use as they've grown. Used a mates iphone 4 the other day and it was like....where's the rest???? Admittedly the Note 2 is a bit on the extreme side ;)
there's 2 holes in the tensioner you need to locate into to turn it and apply tension. There is a tool for it, but some bent nose pliers, or even strong circlip pliers should do it.
