parkers say £450 whereas whatcar give a value of around the £1k mark with the milage adjusted to suit so like you say it could be worthwhile gathering up a bit of evidence.
Tommorrow the alloys, stereo, speakers, seats and exhaust are all coming off/getting put back...
Finally got in concact with the guy tonight. He couldnt apologise enough and seemed very genuine about the whole thing.
I told him it may well cost up to £1k to repair and he said he simply didnt have that sort of money so its looking like he'll have to go through the insurance route after...

The chap stated at the scene he would prefer not to go through insurers, as i believe like me he didnt want to loose his no claims bonus. If he agrees to pay up front the amount i get quoted then ill be happy, and should encounter less hassle and delay than taking...
It was going to be up for sale in a month or so for around the £1k mark when i got my years NCB so i could get a valver.
If i were to go through the insurance route, even though he is at fault, and (fingers crossed) admits all liability, will i loose my NCB by claiming?

Even if he now does a U-turn and decides it wasnt his fault, I would be forced to go through the insurers, and I had 2 people in the car who would testify it was his fault.
Also, due to the nature of the damage, for it to be my fault i would have had to be going the wrong way down the street...

My RT has done me well for a first year uni student. As my first car its been pretty quick when compared with my mates first cars - for the same price and similar insurance costs to my friends punto's, 205's and fiestas, its very well equipped and good fun.
