Really amazing road dude, the drive there through the heart of the dales was just as spectacular - the road to Hawes is something weve done a couple of times now so knowing the road means you can really, properly, crack on.
The cars still fairly new to me so flying down back road with 4 cars in...
Went for a lovely drive today with my mate who has a starlet gt-turbo, weather was awesome and the roads are cracking - not as good as the buttertubs pass we did last night but perfect hot hatch territory none the less. Stopped in a place called patley bridge and took some pics.
Theres a lot...
As a show car, i like it. Beats a saxo with a halfroauds bodykit thats for sure.
Still not quite sure on the bonnet/front end arrangement but the rest looks really slick.
Big thanks for all the help, id never dream of taking a car to renault to be fixed, you might as well wander in to the showroom, bend over the bonnet of a 197 and hand them your wallet.
Id love it if i could find a trustworthy garage near me who would know what they are doing that i could take...
LOL! yeh your right, ive got a haynes manual and its helped me loads, maybe im doing myself a dis-service as i did manage to change over a heater blower unit myself which required a fair bit of unbolting stuff.
I always think when it gets to anything that is connected to something in the...
Must have been a non renault jobbie, does anyone know how much renault charge for a cable and roughly how much fitting would be as i have all the mechanical knowledge of a horse. Could do with a new steering coloumn so could get the two fitted at the same time.
Would that make it overtly stiff?
I thought id get used to it as its a new car to me, but im getting bored of looking like a tw*t jerking away at traffic lights. Crawling along in traffic today i either have to give it billions of revs and then use the 'sharp' setting, or pull away at tortoise...
After getting a valver ive notied the clutch is decidedly stiff. I had a mk1 clio RT before this which has a stiff clutch action so its not like im jumping from a car with light controls and its just a matter of getting used to it.
In short its really stiff, so much so that its like i have the...
Recently wired my headunit into the existing wiring loom for the audio setup in my new valver. My friend did it as he knows much more about that sort of thing than me, it it took a fair bit of playing around with bullit connectors to get the correct speakers fading out when you change the...
Ive got the usual mk1 problem of excessive play in the steering wheel, ive not checked but i strongly suspect its the usual column wear issue. The car had a new steering rack recently so i think it must defo be the column.
I dont want to fork out £150 + fitting for a new rack and ive read up...
Cheers for the comments guys im definately impressed with it.
Its defo in good nick - theres a slight bump in the roof, a couple of dings and one or two spots of rust but the arches are clean and its otherwise in very good condition. The interior is completely mint.
Its not a new engine its...
Picked this up from jammydj this friday, a top person who was uber helpful, and i have to say im impressed with the car. Still not use to driving it properly yet, the clutch and accelerator are way stiffer compared to my RT, and then of course there is the power. Friday night i took it out for...
Well ive just bought my first valver, and one of the niggles (all of which were known before buying) is that the top of the foam of the hill power IK fitted has split slighlty. Its not all the way round so it isnt flapping about, but if you pull back the top of the foam you can see right inside...
Im after some clear bulbs to go in my indicators of a mk1 ph2 valver. I know silvervisions are regarded as the best but after doing some searching i think i found that they wouldnt fit a mk1. IIRC mk1 indicator bulbs are P21W whereas silvervisions come in PY21W.
Can anyone shed any (less...
I had nothing but positive experiences with them last year, found them very helpful to someone who had never had to go about getting insurance before.
Yet now, all of a sudden it seems like the helpful, knowledgable and friendly people i delt with before have been replaced with a spotty 17 year...
EXACTLY my experience, after not determining exactly what my car even was, i was told, quite rudely that they couldnt beat a quote and the phone was put down on me.
Im 18 with 1 years driving experience, 1 years no claims, and a no fault claim recorded.
Elephant are currently the best for me...
I was insured with adrian flux for my first years driving on a 1.4 RT. Ive just bought a valver but ringing for quotes just now they were absolutely useless. I was put through to a woman who i genuinely suspect was from the past.
She got everything it old her wrong, she repeated the same...
Well i had a damn good look at the haynes manual which tells you how to get at everything last night.
The guy says that sometimes if you get your hand down the scuttle panel and wiggle the wires for the ehater unit it occasionally starts to blow out. So it sounds liek the blowers do actually...
no your quite right, it occured to me after i posted it all sounded very stupid, obviously im quite aware the dash would need to come out to get at anything behind. Ill have a fiddle around if and when i get the car changing the switches over etc.
Anyone else had any expereince with the same...
Im on the verge of buying a valver, theres only a couple of iffy bits with it, one of which is that the heater blowers dont work.
I currently have my old mk1 ph3 RT on the drive doing nothing, so i could potentially steal any parts from that.
Firstly, is it possible to just steal a blower unit...
