Cheapest i can get on a valver at 18 with 1yncb with a group F postcode (apprently dodgy even though its a really nice area) is £1469 on a 10month policy TPFT, with bell.
The nearest anyone comes to that is about £2300
Im currently with Flux on my RT but have yet to try them as their online...
I think the fact my car was either running rich/lean had something to do with it. It doesnt just pop like a b*****d all the time, there is a fair amount of control in it - coming off the gas after running it round a few thousand rpms, and then feathering the throttle was the only way to get it...
My RT used to pop and bang like hell, and if it had been running for a while and the exhaust was nice and hot, id occasionally get it to spit the odd flame out.
That was with a completely standard system with just a backbox and decat. It had the middle silencer in still yet it popped and flamed...
Had a meganesport and a cliosport sticker on it, was turning up the road towards devonshire halls as i was walking back from uni up the main road.
Does Pmurray still have a silver 225?
Re: Is it just me or have most valvers been totally mollested and run into the ground
Looks nice that one mate, noticed it a few days ago myself. History is the most important thing - if the willy lump has it as well then you should be safe.
Dont think i could afford the insurance on a...
Re: Is it just me or have most valvers been totally mollested and run into the ground
Market seems to be on its arse at the moment, it has been for a few weeks.
Ive been looking for a valver now every single day on 3 different forums, egay, pistonheads, trader etc for the past 5 months and...
Fairly interested in the debate on this one. In the next few weeks im going to start looking for a valver ( i want standard one) and my good mate is in the market for a 106 GTI at the same time.
Ive a really bad, nagging feeling if we both end up with standard cars, despite 17 more bhp (when...
Re: South Yorks Meet 10/3/2006
I really am going to have to come to a meet when i get a car sorted, looks like a good turnout and some nice pics. Bondy you mucky b*****d show that thing a hose!
Its a point thats already been made but a small engined/slower car can be so much more fun than a larger engined/more powerful car when screwing the tits off it on a country road somewhere.
If youve got a 1.2 or 1.4 with sub-100bhp then chances are if your giving it the shoe you will be foot to...
For christs sake dont buy a sparkrite.
Had one on my clio before it got written off. Nothing but trouble. Never worked properly when i got it, then decided one day to start randomly setting itself off whilst i was driving the car, with no way of turning it off.
You'd do better to buy a...
Exact same situation as me. Got hit by a bloke sailing through a give way. He admitted full liability and it went through his insurers - i got a payout without it going near my existing insurers, however his insurers are elephant, and in a few months it looks like im going to be going through...
I know i only posted these recently, but its been my only car and hence my first effort. Not even my fault. All rather dissapointing really. I had hoped to either sell it in a nice condition or do things properly and go screaming through a hedge backwards due to ice or swerving to avoid a wild...
Yeh he always said right from the start he would admit liability, and its fair play to him forholding his word. His dad had told him never to admit liability , even though it was a complete no brainer in this situation. I think he felt so bad about steaming through a give way into me though...
I dont know whether to sell the car as a job lot, for someone to use as spares etc, or try splitting it all. Trouble is, im not the most mechanically minded person and dont know if i can be bothered with the hastle of it all.
Ive tried that and it bumps the premium up by near enough £200.
The chap from elephant - the other guys insurers, however, said there is absolutely no reason to list you had an accident as it never went anywhere near my own insurers - it all got dealt with through the 3rd party insurers. He...
Yeh i think this has turned out for the best in the end. Had i sold my car as it was before the incident i would have got somewhere in the region of 850 i think. So for me to be given £1200 for it, as well as the benefit of still actually having the car to sell on, is a pretty good upshot.
Sorry to drag this back but ive just had some rather good news.
Got in contact with the guys insurance company, and they offered me a cash lump sum, to write the car off, just to get the case off their books quickly.
Upshot of this is, and i cant believe im saying this, a cheque is in the post...
Thats a brilliant plate, but i think youll get pulled sooner or later.
Im fairly into card tricks myself - a complete amature but enjoy scaring the s**t out of my flatmates. My latest trick is the invisible deck which is proving to be a big hit to anyone i perform it to. Sorry to drag things...
