Definately go for a 16v, the RSI and valver are worlds apart! I too was shocked with such cheap quotes on a Saxo. As for high milage, im on 110k and no major problems yet. As long as its got a full history and is looked after you shouldnt have a problem, mine only had a partial Renault history...

I was looking at a similar problem - high running/tuning costs of the 16v. I had a look at a 172 but that was 1500 more on the insurance, then there was a GTT which would be about 300 quid cheaper on insurance. The GTT is appealing but is dated and the lack of stuff that it doesnt have that i...

I did an oil change last week, oh joy! When i was finished i noticed a thin red wire just sticking out from somewhere by the inlet manifold, with the end half way up the rad on the drivers side. Now it will just about stretch to a little plug connected to the radiator that has a single yellow...
I think Renault came up with a different design for the routing of the clutch cable so as to not put as much pressure on it, hence the new pedal. As for the cable itself i paid £15 something at Renault and fitting can be a problem but the best advice is to take note of where the current cable is...
forgot to ask, are you taking pre-orders for them now, cos i want some but i wont be too impressed if the price suddenly dropped by say £100 in the near future, is this likely to happen? if they are modded units like i mentioned above id guess the price is gonna be pretty much the same.
I got mine chipped at Hill Power best mod you can get for the money. I dont know whether its increased the power much but drivability is much improved.
right i have lowered suspension 35mm thats Avo spings and dampers. I took my car for the MOT and it failed on a track rod end. On closer inspection its fine, but the nut on top of the strut itslef is too thick for the strut top to pull tight up against the metal when its fully tight, if you get...
i think theres a few things out there thatll beat the zondas time, probly all kit cars but there you go. Well have to get the Captain on there in his turbo :devilish:
I think you are limited to the F7R block, you need the crank, then a chip to suit, id personnaly prefer a remapable ECU. All the ancilliary stuff should be ok but i want to change em cos the engine will be out. No definate answer on the box im afraid, the 16v is closer ratio AFAIK and doesnt...

well mine was rubbing with 215/50/16 but it is lowered about 40mm, it could be rubbing on the inner arch. I switched to 195/45 on the fronts and it stopped, the rears still rub going over big bumps at speed though.
i dont know what the deal is with the 2/3 bolts but when i got my RT chipped Nick Hill asked my whether it was a 2 or 3 bolt one, slightly different throttle body maybe?
I agree, definately gonna cost more than you think, Ive already got a spare head so the engine can be assembled, worked on, then swapped for current one, this seems the best option if you dont want your car off the road for any great periods of time. Im not just looking for a straight 2L though...
You can get a Willy/16v L.S.D. from here, aint cheap (£1050) but no doubt useful... http://avanti-motorsport.co.uk/Special_Offers/special_offers.htmlhttp://avanti-motorsport.co.uk/Special_Offers/special_offers.html
