Generally I will crop a photo (usually only to tidy it up, nothing major), then adjust the levels. I always under-expose which is much safer than over-exposing, so I just bring the levels up a bit to brighten it up. Lately I've started experimenting with selective sharpening as well, again just...
CLK 63 AMG I think, something along those lines anyway, it's the F1 Safety Car and iirc they've made a road-going 'Black' version, not sure if it sounds that good though. Got a few pics in my gallery of it. Sounded completely normal when tootling along then just exploded under acceleration...
I took about 500, I usually get about 100 absolutely spot on photos out of that, another 200 or so which are nearly there but not quite, then the rest are just rubbish. I dug these few out of the 'nearly but not quite' pile, although I can't believe I missed the BMW-Sauber shot first time...
I was on the dual-carriageway with it for about 25 minutes on the way in. Didn't realise it was going on display in the Supercar paddock, I figured they would all get trucked in!
Not sure about an extender on an f4, it's fine on my 80-200 2.8 but obviously that's got a 1 stop advantage. I...
Went to my first proper event at Brands Hatch today as I'm determined to like the place. Anyway, I didn't! A few pics, pretty poor to be honest but a few ok ones in there...

Good idea on the camera thing, particuarly for the Sunday. Next year I just want to go on the Saturday or Sunday and splash out on a grandstand seat and just enjoy everything.
As for the camera, Nikon D50 and a Nikon 300mm f4 for the head-on shots. They don't do anything for me personally as...
Believe me I'm completely wasted, got up at 6am and I've been half-asleep ever since! Walking around the full GP circuit at Brands was agony.
Out of interest, best sounding car of the day? Oddly mine was the F1 Safety Car, stunning. That insane Madza Furai thing was a close second though.
When I headed back down he jumped the bails off the track into the spectator areas...little did he realise there was an ageing marshal sat the other side, looked like it hurt a bit!
Great pics, hard to choose a favourite. I'm officially 107% sure who you are now, first spotted you in the Supercar Paddock around 7am, then up towards the top of the hill (on the far side) around the lunchbreak and the start of the second runs...am I right?!
Up at 4am, left at 4:45, there at 6:45...spot on :) Still exhausted but well worth it, had a superb day...
And even more...http://chrisharrison.smugmug.com/gallery/5384389_rsYxj
If I had to, would rather a brand new Corsa VXR, a few choice mods (well, just brakes actually) and a s**t load of track/road driving courses.
Assuming he isn't some sort of driving god I would be quicker than him in a few months.
My dream setup. The other half already has this on her "go and get this for Chris the day I win the lottery" list :) Had a feeling it was a good setup as you can tell from a few of the shots that the detail is waaaay beyond anything my D50 can achieve (the green Escort drift shots amongst...
Some cracking images there, thought you might appreciate an honest opinion...
1) Severe over-exposure in many of the shots although it improves towards the end. Were you using Matrix metering? Spot metering might help but otherwise I can't quite work out how they are so overexposed, assuming...
Inspired by this I thought I would get one of these blog things to throw all my stuff in...

Will gradually add the rest of my guide as well as loads more. Good fun, this writing stuff, especially when it's about something you're interested in.
Without wishing to sound harsh, those aren't great pics considering they are taken by somebody employed to take them, there isn't even any movement in the wheels, absolute basic rule of track pics. As with many things in life, it's not what you know but who you know....and all that.
;)...
Congrats to Schweppy for the victory in the last round with this image depicting the subject 'Motion'...
...the new subject has been chosen by him and is:
Running Water
Comp runs from now until midnight Thursday 17th July. Any photos entered must be taken between now and...
Cracking shots, #3 is the winner for me, very cool.
I don't think a converter would work with the 70-300, or at the very least you will lose auto-focus. As a general rule auto-focus won't work if the lens is slower than f4, even with a 1.4 which only loses one stop.
Good pics, love the White GTR and Celica Interior.
Is this fun to watch, out of interest? Caught some of it on TV once and it was pretty dull/confusing, with cars constantly either warming up or down etc, was like a really odd lengthy qualifying session.
I only spotted it in the Wiltshire Times last night. Going to rain hard till about 7am tomorrow apparently but should clear up. Costs £5 to get in but they didn't have anyone on the gate today, probably will tomorrow as the Astons and Ferraris are out to play, probably be a bit busier.
