Congrats to Jezz for the victory in the last round with this image depicting the subject 'Running Water'...

Still has aircon though as the engine was only ever designed with it, would have cost too much to remove it.
An option to have the bonnet painted would have made sense, only thing I'm unsure of. Would be interested in more of the colours if it wasn't for the contrasting bonnet.
Think it's a love or hate thing, personally I love it. Simply no volume car makers doing anything like this, I thought the 172 Cup was the last time we would see a genuinely lightened car, I was wrong, deleted airbags ftw!
I seriously bought a lotto ticket after seeing this, as unfortunately...
Which colour though? The 'in the metal' shots don't look quite as good as the mock-ups, imo, still awesome though. A few look a little awkward with carbon bonnet, white still seems to work well though.

Great photos Rich, looks like somebody actually went for a walk! Surprised I didn't see you, I didn't move all weekend! The Mini shots in particular are excellent, were you right near the catch fence for #1? Can't quite figure out the angle.
Anyone catch what the story behind the Clio Cup...
Great thread/pics. Are you intending to do the Brands night race? I'm hoping to go along, and probably the 24hr at Silverstone as well.
I love the G50s, great looking car in my opinion and appear to have been very successful already, certainly plenty out racing already.
Interesting, I must have mis-read the regs as they look extremely strict. The 2008 regs on the BARC site state...
5.8.2.2 „Coil over shock absorbers are not permitted unless fitted as standard by the manufacturer.
It does mention that remapping of the standard ECU is allowed, as is an...

Audi A3 Sportback 2.0T (136) Citroen Xsara VTS (143) Fiat Stilo Abarth (137) Ford Focus ST 170 (143) Ford Fiesta ST (132) MG ZR 160 (147) MG ZS 180 (144) Mini Cooper S (143) Mini Cooper S R56 (155) Peugeot 206 GTi 180 (158) Renault...
Oddly the 172 goes in Class B, but the 182 goes in Class A (as does the 197, but only just), meaning the 172 is very competitive but the 182 isn't! Power to weight ratios to assign cars to classes are taken from the latest issue of Evo magazine (really). That pretty much writes off any chance a...
We nearly went for a breakfast but the other half stayed asleep for the CC Saloon qualifying so we would have been a bit late. Will have to try it sometime.
I wouldn't bother with slower shutter speeds on sunny days like that, real pain in the arse to deal with to be honest. Got a few at 1/30...
Useless when it comes to crashes mate, I usually end up watching open mouthed. Must have seen 70+ crashes at Combe and I've never caught one properly. For once I can also blame my equipment as well, my little £100 DSLR can only shoot at 2 frames per second, which isn't very quick.

To answer a few questions...
1) I've been to 16 Motorsport events so far this year, so I don't spend EVERY moment of my life at race tracks :) I would if I could afford the petrol and the other half didn't mind ever seeing me, though!
2) I was there both days, camped overnight behind the...

Take one Nikon D50 and 80-200 lens, start your panning sequence at 1/160...
Continue to shoot in burst mode, sharpening up the shot with smoother panning...
Then don't realise your panning has taken you behind a fence post...
Yep the heavier lens does seem to help stabilize the panning quite a bit, especially when it's a bit breezy, I used to get an aching arm after 6hrs of holding my 80-200, used to it now though!
New lens has certainly treated you well, some awesome shots there.
The 787 Escort and the Hillman shot (both sharp as hell) are great in particular, but the rear of the Escort (great catch on 3 wheels with a slow shutter speed) is just brilliant, love it.
Re: BARC Dunlop Racing Festival - Donnington
Is it the Dunlop Great & British Race Package? If so then yep it's pretty cool (I'm going to the same thing at Castle Combe tomorrow), the Motorsport News Saloon Car Championship is pretty big, they've got a full 42 car grid at Castle Combe tomorrow...

Does it generally get busy for the WTCC? Tempted to go along as I will have been paid and can afford to splash nearly £50 in fuel for a days fun!
Can't decide between Saturday and Sunday, apparently Sunday was really quiet last year so they've gone mad this year, BMW Sauber F1 Team...
Superb mate, really really impressed by them. The set gets better as you scroll down through them in my opinion. Love the last one, and also the 3rd to last one where you can just see the grass in the air from the impact.
I've never shot golf before so can't really help, but with Motorsport I...
Essentially it's a higher quality glass which can help minimize the 'purple fringing' you get on some photos, which in turn should make the photos a bit sharper.

Were these taken with a tripod? Surely an ND4 is going to lose you a fair bit of light, meaning if all were taken at f8.0 you need a slower shutter speed to get an equivalent image...?
Worth pointing out:
There is a big difference between "fit" and "will autofocus", the basic connections are the same as any Nikon has been for donkeys years, pretty much anything will work on a D40/60, the key is whether it will autofocus or not. Only the autofocus motor is missing from those...
