Whip the wheel off and have a look. Probably something like an ARB link - that's what had gone on mine which was making similar noises at similar times.
Pretty good once bedded in. I need to bleed the system again as the pedal was a little spongy, but felt good overall. Was getting more and more confidence on them as the day went on.
Just qualifying and racing. If you've got monies then you can afford to test the day before, in between races etc. I just turn up with what I've got and do my learning in qualifying and the races.

Not really got to the enjoying stage yet - still in the learning stage. Next year should be a bit of fun, should have a lot more similar cars around to actually race with, rather than doing two entire races on my own.

Did you bed them in properly first? I know lots of people who use EBC yellows for track use and the only person to ever have a problem didn't bed them in properly. I'll give you my own opinion in three days time.
