    Looking for a new Headunit

I just bought an Alpine IDA X305, awesome bit of kit if you have an iDevice.

The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread

That's exactly the reason I'm brutally honest when people on here ask if they should shoot a wedding with 'non pro' gear. It's just not designed for the job. Oh and Brazo...that shot is epic too.

[XBLA/PS3/PC] Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD

I wasted god knows how many hours playing this back in the day, I think I'll resist it this time around. Would bring back a lot of memories though!

    Windscreen

Ah ok. Well I was told it was for better signal etc. Well at least I learned something today lol!

    Windscreen

Pretty sure it's not but I may be wrong. What I said was what I was told by a lot of people when I first asked about it.

    Windscreen

It's a space for fitting GPS etc, so you get better signal.

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

I applied G1 the other day, obviously it's not as easy as RainX, but it wasnt that bad to apply. I'm probably the only bugger in the UK who wants a bit of rain now lol! I want to see if it works as well as I've seen on others cars.

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

Yep, did 3 coats at 15min intervals. It was quite warm yesterday, doubt that makes much of a difference though.

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

I applied the G1 stuff to the car yesterday evening. And the one time I actually want a bit of rain, now it looks like its going to be sunny!! It was a bit tougher to remove than I thought. It certainly wasn't as easy as in the little demo video on their site. I guess when it rains next it'll...

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

I wont be driving the car again until the weekend, so it'll have a few days to cure. Thanks for the help :)

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

Right guys, received my G1 sealant kit this morning. I'll have a to at it this evening BUT I have one more question. After applying everything, and then using the G2 to remove the residue, would using a microfibre to buff be too aggressive? Is that why they recommend a cotton cloth? I do...

is it worth stripping out ur car?

^wuss. That's where all the fun is! Where's the fun driving around in a big comfortable, quiet barge?! ;)

    Incorrect EQ settings...or just a s**t headunit?

I dont want to say lol, incase you lot all say it's s**t! Well.....its the Alpine iDA-X305s.

    Incorrect EQ settings...or just a s**t headunit?

Cheers, I'll never stray from my 'don't buy cheap s**t' policy again. Lesson learned. Ordered a new head unit just now, hopefully this one will be the dogs!

is it worth stripping out ur car?

Less weight improves EVERYTHING remember. Even the boring stuff like fuel economy and brake/tyre wear etc.

is it worth stripping out ur car?

If you do it properly, and not what most people pass for stripping by removing the back seats, then yes it does make a big difference......IF YOU DO IT PROPERLY!!!

    Incorrect EQ settings...or just a s**t headunit?

Also, does anyone know if I can simply take it back to Halfords as I'm not happy with it? Or does there have to be a fault for them to accept it? Am I stuck with it basically?!

    Incorrect EQ settings...or just a s**t headunit?

Sorry.....another ICE question! Since updating my old Blaupunkt unit to something a bit more modern, a Sony CDX-GT560 unit....I've not been very impressed with the sound since fitting. This evening I had the dash off the car, so I could easily do a quick comparison....using the same CD...

    Quick speaker type question

I've changed the headunit yes. I don't really need super duper speakers to be honest, it's not the sort of car for that....and you can barely hear them anyway! Just want to spend a little bit upgrading the super crap stock ones. And if you mean with Burpspeed, yes I'll be there :)

    Need my under tray resprayed....where?

My Dad might be able to help me out, as he could sweet talk a supplier who we work with. f**k paying the price of a brand new diffuser though! It's not an urgent job at all, just another little cosmetic mod. I'll if my Dad can sort anything out first. Thanks

    Quick speaker type question

What's the advantage of those over the speakers in my first post?
  26. DanFreemanPhoto

    Quick speaker type question

Basically I'm looking to update my dated front interior speakers to something a bit more modern. There only 10cm in size, so the options are pretty limited BUT....I notice that I can either get a 2-way coaxial or 3-way coaxial. What's the difference?! Am I really going to notice a difference...

I'm going to wait until it arrives then ask again then. I'm getting pretty confused!

    Need my under tray resprayed....where?

hmmmm.....went to a body shop after work. They said they'd want around £150 all in to do it! That's very nearly the price of a brand new diffuser!! Should it really be that much?
