It’s been cherished on the whole! One of those cars that’s had a few different guises so modded stripped then modded again. I’ve got a few plans for it so we will see how it goes!
Must agree it’s a lot quieter both the sales section and the general forum. There’s still the regulars which is good.
All these lease deals on bmw’s And VW’s can’t have helped. Who wants to tinker with an old Renault when you can just have a comfy car to go quick in a straight line with and...

Picked the latest recruit up a few weeks ago.
First was a ph1 titanium silver 172 as my first “renaultsport”
Second was a 172 mondial cup which I loved but for some strange reason sold it. Regret.
Now this came up off a friend. Needs a little bit of work but nothing major. Looking forward...
Haha! I remember that! New 6-point harnesses since then too so hopefully none on that lol. yeah i'd hope to get much closer to 2mins now. Just messing trying to fit epas at the moment. Hopefully be back on track mid summer:)
I was down in the 2.04's in mine. That was with 197 cams, quaife diff, b14's and ns2r's.
Since then I've gone supercharged, AST's, roll centre hubs and slicks. not been back to oulton yet though!
I think they're the main rotrex suppliers but tbh i'm not sure if they do any sort of inspection/maintenance on them? i could be wrong though?
I seem to remember reading on their website a while ago that they didn't do any charger servicing
I emailed them a couple of months ago about mine...
I'm one of the rare ones with climate control too!
My claim to fame is the only supercharged iceberg cup i think too haha! Had to remove the a/c for the charger though
Cant go wrong with a set of standard brembo front high carbon discs and some PBS pads! A relatively cheap set up compared to what you could spend on braking, will make a hell of a difference too!
@imprezaworks The cams are about £150 to buy, similar price for matched inlets too but can be had a bit less second hand. Obviously exhaust inc' decat and some sort of induction setup are needed too
I had my cams fitted when i needed my belts doing at clio turbo and it was free fitting but i...
This was mine when I was running n/a with the 197 cams and matched inlets. Drove brilliantly!
Seems to be the norm this sort of power/torque with the cams etc. Get it mapped at EFI if you can too
Hopefully mate! Yeh your welcome to jump in if your about. I've not got anything booked at Oulton yet but i will be doing soon. Im at Croft on the 22nd August @JamesBryan
@JB21 @JamesBryan Cheers lads! yeah correct it has a quaife diff and I was on B14s then too. The 197 cams made a nice difference, especially on mine as before the timing was miles out and lacking loads in the lower rpm.
If your having belts done, for the sake of around £200 extra its worth...
I don't think there are any other companies offering a full clio supercharger kit apart from k-tec. As above you would have to get lucky and get a 2nd hand kit off someone which usually go for about £2.5k. Or put a kit together yourself which would still cost over 3k
I bought a full kit inc'...
Well i went to ECP today and ordered a 1985, but the one than turned up against that part number said 1995 on the belt:/ anyway i said i may as well try it and see how it is
Comparing my existing 1973 against it and there wasn't too much difference. Anyway, I managed to get it on and all seems...
@RMDavis Yeah that's what I've bought mate, I just got the same one but I've gone upto a 90mm charger pulley now so I cant get the belt to fit. not sure what size I need:/
