Anyway, this is one of my favourite threads.
Some geezer rocked up in a red GT3 at the park yesterday. Felt like I'd let my kids down when we retreated to our Passat.
I understand that, I've give them everything I have. It happened a few weeks ago and I just contacted them out of curiosity really. Would like to know what their findings are. I can see no burn marks on the controller at all, just melting, would look like a heat inside probably from the batteries.
just on to xbox now to see if they have any other reports of spontaneous controller combustion.
I've informed them that my partner has currently made me move all Microsoft designed products outside as she is worried of fire risk. Originally I put them in the rabbit hutch to keep them dry but...
Might drop Microsoft an email see what they say.
Funny thing is there doesn't seem to be any marking on the circuit board to suggest burning of any type.
Brand new batteries. Has taken a good old beating over the years I expect, Curtains were closed and overnight so not direct sunlight, Also no marks around where it was so doesn't look like it was a sudden heat thing. I would guess more of a constant hot that just melted it.
All very strange.
So....... I come down stairs the other morning, thought I'd stick the xbox on before the kids got up and was confronted by this.... Dangerous? Lucky it didn't cause a fire?
Mine goes in the bag if we are ever going away for a weekend or whatever, perfect for an hours kill time. Never get it out at home.
