It is a big decision, I know what you're going through.
It's made harder when you consider whatever brand you go with, you'll have tick to if you ever upgrade the body again. Otherwise you have to sell all your lenses etc to make the switch.
I know what you mean about the Nikon feeling the...
Love the last shot, great idea!
Next time you could get a big piece of card or similar as a reflector board, it acts like a flash basically, but for free! It would have worked well on the first shot, to fill in the light on the child.
Tricky to use when windy though! ;)
Well we used to use, and still do use a bit, a 'pro' photographer. He charges a small fortune to do this sort of stuff, like most pros! And now we don't have to transport all the gear to his studio to do the shoot, it's all done in house which is a massive time saver too!
So although it cost...
If the thing you're photographing doesn't change (lighting wise) then P or Av is fine. But as the lighting was changing so much, aperture priority wouldn't be very reliable.
Most of the time I shoot aperture priority, switching to S priority when shooting motorsport or similar.
It's in those...
lol. Well I persuaded the company to let me buy some proper kit for the studio. I basically said to them 'if you want to get proper 'professional' looking shots, I can't do it with cheap s**t of ebay'
The studio was already built when we moved in, so we just need the kit.
I said with a...
Never aperture priority.
When shooting something with constantly changing conditions, like driving through a town, ALWAYS use manual.
I did guess what settings I needed, I originally set it to 6 seconds, but that wasn't quite enough so I had to increase it.
Nice shot Gareth. Haven't looked through mine yet, I'll leave that for tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath for ay decent ones :(
Lesson learnt = go at low tide!
It's high tide at around 8pm, so it will be on it's way out by sunset, but it will still be high.
Both times I've been there before it was low tide, so at least it'll be different.
Well I won't be around for the next two weekends, so I best get my ass in gear.
If anyone is around, I'll be at the car park right near the bay at 7.30-7.45pm ish.
I'll be in a silver Audi A4 estate.
They are telling you because they look s**t.
Coilovers are uprated suspension. They are supposed to improve the handling, but most people just want the car slammed, so buy cheap kits.
You can colour code anything, respray anything....you just need to make sure it doesnt look crap.
