The good seats were expensive, that's ultimately why I didn't go!
Compared to an event like Goodwood FoS (where the view is as good as you make it) it didn't seem like good value at all.
Wow, I was half expecting a little dot of a car in the distance. You must have been pretty close to get those shots with a 200mm..?
Some really cool shots there.
Similar thing for non Clio stuff is here...

Got to get my ass up to Silverstone to photograph some F1 in 2008, either that or I need a photography pass for some events to see how I really get on compared to the pros, either would make...
Bung your camera in shutter priority mode, play around with panning the camera and taking pics, then adjust the speed settings (e.g. 1/200, 1/50 etc) until something starts to look good.
That's exactly what I did anyway :)
5,000 shots later you start to figure out what works and what doesn't.
Considering I haven't actually owned a Clio at all in 2007, I've done pretty well with regards to events. I missed an airfield event for the first time due to a project but I've got to everything else I wanted to get to. All done for me now this year so I thought I would share my favourites...
It isn't the camera body really, it's the lens. I managed to pick up a 80-200mm 2.8 dirt cheap (well, £500) at the start of the year, the rest has been an absurd amount of practice - if a car is on track at Castle Combe of a weekend I'm there, basically.
The lens is waaaaay too short for...
A bit early maybe, but I've got nothing else planned before the New Year so I thought I would share my fave pics from this year (in the sequence they were taken, March at the top and working through to October at the bottom), a year of firsts for me...
Starting with one of my first ever DSLR...
It doesn't automatically go off every crash (as that could potentially cause more injuries), you need a reasonably hefty front collision to trigger the steering wheel bag. From the description of the crash it sounded like only the side bags were needed, which are what triggered by the looks of...
Learned how to do this from scratch this evening (only ever used PS for minor photo editing before) but I'm trying to sort out a 'full package' type thing for when I do car shoots, I've been offered cash for a few so I wanted to do something cool instead of just handing over a CD in a case...
Old school single processor Athlon XP 3000 ;)
Built my PC in 2004 and it's still the same today apart from a GPU upgrade (Radeon X1950 Pro) in Feb this year. I just made sure I bought decent high quality RAM (2GB worth) and a rapid Hard Drive, seemed to pay off as it's still running very...
Spotted you at Cribbs this evening, I was up on the top floor and you were milling around next to the fountain down below.
If I hear one more person say "have you got any Wiis?" in a shop I will scream :)
I assumed you might have known about this :)
Looks awesome mate, can't recommend the calendar enough. I've designed my own for our office as well, got a whole page of your LY (and Trailertrevs Ultra Red 197), will have to show you it when it arrives, hoping it will look pretty cool...
That's what I was worried about, not fussed about Blu/HD and I guess that is where a lot of the money is going. Always built them myself in the past but got out of the loop over the past few years and completely baffled by it now.
I'm not exactly sure how they calculate an Interesting pic but essentially if you have a picture which gets quite popular/liked it can make it into Interestingness. I've had two in the past 8 months, picture views go through the roof as soon as they appear in that section.
Awesome shots there, got your panning technique down to a fine art. Love that C4, not seen the Rally version before.
Rear shot of the Wilks Evo is my favourite.

Cheeky *****!
Thanks for pointing that out mate, starting to get a few of these sorts of problems now which is a bit frustrating. Hate to lock my pics away but leaving them available to download at full-size isn't really helping me anymore.
There is very little non-specialist photography that you won't be able to do brilliantly with what you have. You also learn a hell of a lot more if you are restricted in terms of what equipment you can have...I stuck with a superzoom camera for a few years to learn the ropes, once I had...
