Good news, would be nice to see some equal treatment in terms of content with the US as well though. I assume they would have to sign all new deals but movies and a reasonable selection of TV shows would be a good start.
I can't ever see us getting the equivalent of $1 tracks, at the end of...
The 172 Cup was one of the last cars made before all the major manufacturers signed an agreement that ABS would be standard on all cars (only TVR ignored the memo!), so ditching that simply isn't an option.
They have no spare wheel to ditch so that's a huge chunk of weight that they can't...
f**king fantastic news, really pleased for you. I was driving for 45 minutes today and without thinking about it noticed how I was keeping my eyes peeled just incase.
Number plates still on it?
I don't think the stolen/recovered thing would matter too much with this Cup, I can't see him...
Keep an eye on Autotrader, it takes time but last Summer I found a few reasonable ones come up. I was too late for one on 30k that a family had used since day one (£1500) and there were a few more that came up from sellers that had clearly used it as a standard shopping car for years with...
Yep it does work out sometimes so fingers crossed. My in-laws had their car stolen from a car park when shopping in Bristol, the next morning it turned up 35 miles away, ironically about 200m from where they live. Still got the same car to this day 10 years later.
The other half was emotional enough when she read the comment about Megans ELC play-money, I won't be showing her any more updates after reading your latest post.
Sicknening, words just can't describe it really.
Can't imagine so, and to be fair there are about 1200 Cups in better condition (visually, anyhow) and far more discreet than this one to pick on.
Can't believe they did this in daylight though, unbelievable the lengths 'people' will go to when stealing a car, especially as that's all they...
No way. Proper gutted for you, that cup is irreplaceable, taken an incredible thrashing and never gives up. Shame as I know you had great plans for it.
I didn't publish aperture (f-stop) info for many of the pics as I always shoot in Shutter Priority and therefore never take much notice of it. However after reviewing all the pics I've published in the guide they are nearly all in the f5.6-f11 range, in other words, perfectly do-able at the...
Circuit Guides
If you want to get out and practice the best (and cheapest) option is to head down to your local circuit for a trackday, these are nearly always free for spectators and often offer a full days action apart from an hours lunch break. It’s worth phoning the circuit to check you...
Equipment
Lens
Safety is ever-improving at motorsport venues, whilst this is good for spectators it can cause havoc for photographers without a press pass. As a general rule you will need up to 300mm at your disposal, making a relatively cheap lens like a 70-300mm f4-5.6 (typically around...
I strangely enjoyed writing the photography guide during my Christmas break last year, so this year I decided to go into more detail with the motorsport side of things. As always these are only what I personally have found to work for me, so treat them as a rough guide or as something different...
The FM unit that always seems to review highly (and I've done loads of research) is the standard Kensington Digital FM Transmitter (£34 on Amazon). I've ordered one for my Touch.
I pick up 6 seperate connections in my house (they must have one hell of a range, there are only 3 houses within 150ft of here), 1 of them is unsecured.
We connected by accident when we got a new laptop, no use to us as we are all limited severely here (in a village 2 miles from an exchange)...
We still have the problem that if one format does 'win', many studios are tied into exclusive deals with a format.
I've no idea how long those exclusivity deals are, but for the consumer it means that one way or another there will not be a single format with all movies on it for quite some...
Giottos MM9800 = £175
Manfrotto 676B = £30
We're talking fairly light non-professional use here! For what it's worth it was the photographers at Castle Combe who recommended Manfrotto to me, virtually all of them had been using the same one for years with no problems (and I'm talking...
On a general note, they feel like they are hindering you at first, but once you get used to them the added sharpness they bring to your pics is amazing. I did a comparison at Avon Rise (Castle Combe, approx 15ft away from a 150mph straight) and the difference was amazing.
Not sure if a head is needed to be honest, I haven't decided yet!
Anyway, as mentioned the Manfrotto 676B is what I use and feels very solid (£30). I have the Manfrotto 234RC Monopod QR Tilt Top Head (£25), I guess it's useful, but I could live without it.
No need to spend a fortune on a...
Aperture on a bridge camera is completely different to aperture on a DSLR lens. Due to the much smaller sensor on a bridge camera you won't get anywhere near the same blurring effect when using f2.8, it's mainly just helpful in that you get a brighter image at longer focal lengths.
Top work, some really nice shots there. Love the last one in particular.
Seems to blur the background quite well in macro mode as well, surprising for a non-SLR camera.
That's the problem you see, it's a great camera but it immediately removes loads and loads of good cheap lenses out of the equation.
I've had a look and the only 70-300 lens compatible with the D40 is the Nikon 70-300mm f4-5.6 VR, fantastic lens but that's £300.
It would be cheaper to...
