Sod buying a child friendly car now because i'll be having kids in 3-5 years time lol, i'll have had at least 4-5 more cars by then!!
I got itchy feet after about 4 months, hence the purchase of another mini :tongueclosed:
Nah, i like the mini too much for that!! Always got to have a FWD hot hatch in the stable
I do think that i'll end up with a grey M3 with CSL airbox at some point though. Maybe even an SMG to use as my daily instead of the 135. The fuel/depreciation of an e92 puts me off them i think, although...
Someone just posted this actually:
And i have this in my favourites:
For me, these two videos depict what i think i missing from the M135i. I watch them both & the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. There is something about that engine & the noise it produces, that just gets to me i...
Nah, i do like it, its a very very good car. I'll whisper what it reminds me of though, the Golf Mk5 R32 i had, but quicker. As Colin says, that was also a car that did everything brilliantly, fast/refined/comfy/practical/lots of toys etc etc etc, but because it does everything so well, nothing...
Not sure on 80mph lol, but the pre-facelift is fairly long! Can be a bit irritating on the road, but on track its perfectly fine, essentially you just stay in 3rd all day long! Facelift box with LSD in the GP is much nicer in terms of ratios and cornering however. Might be an upgrade at some...
Haha, yes, is pretty good, drive like a tool in this weather and its essentially wheelspin in 1st/2nd/3rd.
Drive properly and traction is very good because of the smooth power curve, unlike the 135i which is just nothing, boooooooost, sideways.
Think im going to see how it copes with the next...
Quite a big one actually as i was at 1320 all day yesterday!!
Since "sparkpluggate" i've compression tested it (160ish across all 4, so perfectly fine), then fitted new OEM ignition leads and some colder NGK BCR8ES spark plugs. Got a coil pack as well, but it wouldnt fit, so will be sending that...
He asked for positive AND negative.
As you say, its HIS pride & joy. In reality, what other people think shouldnt affect how much HE likes the car. I couldnt give a rats ar5e what people think of my purchases for example.
Im sorry, but i cant think of anything nice to say about your car at all.
Renault totally lost the plot (& numerous customers) with this thing, including me.
But if you like it, thats all that matters
Yup, i persuaded a colleague to change from RFs on his 320d M Sport & he couldn't believe the difference.
As said, he did loads of miles, so just put a space saver in there. Although he carried tyre weld/foot pump as well.
Yup. I've been looking at e92 M3's as of late, but i'd need to spend £20k, to then lose a fortune in depreciation.
Or i could buy another (far less sheddy) e46 for £10k and keep a couple of grand aside for failures.
The decision seems obvious really.
Yup, i bought my '03 with 93k for £8k in Sept 11 and sold at £6750 with 100k in Mar 12. Would be worth a lot more now lol.
I think Cookie has the right idea tbh, he's got a good one, depreciation will be minimal, so if it breaks (Subframe/HGF), just fix it, no point worrying.
Nothing is as bad as a CLA lol!!!
Well, except a CLS.
Full M required next though i think, or a GP2, can be sensible with M Lites when i have a family tbh.
To be fair, most of the visits were due to dealer ineptitude (seat base), since the fan was fixed for the 2nd time its been perfect!!
Would i recommend it to anyone? Yes. Best overall car ive had by a long shot, cheap to lease/run, goes like stink & drives great. Keep looking at e92 M3's &...
3 different ones, more details here: https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Start
Doubt they'll do it on warranty tbh, will just say its "worn out". Luckily its not hard to replace/or particularly expensive: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346876
