They stand around, polishing each others bonnets with the sperm of a virgin unicorn. Once that is done, they discuss the beauty of standardness, whilst sticking pins in a voodoo doll of me & any other non-cleaner/modifier. Not Trophy owners are chastised as heathens.
I did.
Sold the 197 after 3 weeks.
Bought another 330i, an auto touring.
You will be disappointed by the build quality, the engine will feel as flat as a f4rt and the mpg will be laughable consider the woeful pace on offer (it was worse than my M3). On the flipside, the handling/brakes are...
Real shame this Tim!! Any idea on the cause of the failures (other than your mechanical sympathy lol)? Surely you can go after the people in Basingstoke that did the work? Cant imagine it was Fred's crate engine that caused the problem.
Completely. As an example, 90% of new Mercedes registered are on PCP, probably similar with BMW/Audi.
The £200 a month clio offer got loads of product out the door, so Renault should know how well it works!
Cash buyers are in the minority, so a good finance package is essential imho.
I genuinely think they are generally selling loads of them in France/Oz etc, but not in the UK (as per Luke's post), BUT its missed the mark here, the car certainly isnt bad, but they buggered up the launch so badly that everyone who would have been interested bought Fiesta's/M135's/Golf R's on...
Booking finalised. 8 failsporters, 3 cars, 1 tent.
Houx camping/entry (via 1st Tickets) = £125 per person
Ferry (direct with P&O) = £48.75 per person
Total = £173.75 per person
Why are you comparing apples & pears though - your terms/deposits are different lol.
I've just run the following through Close Motor Finance using the same deposit/term/10k per annum (i'm a finance broker)
Clio 200EDC (4 years): £20,590, £2,500 deposit, £6,927.50 RV, £277.96 per month. £330 per...
If you intend to buy the car at the end yes (Golf's RV will be much higher), what is the monthly cost for each during the 3 year term?
What are the figures for the clio out of interest, ie cost price/deposit/monthly/RV?
If you plan to buy the car & keep it forever, never selling it, yes, you are indeed correct.
However, if you plan to sell after 3/5 years, you need to consider residual values, like finance/leasing companies do.
For example, in 2007:
Megane R26: £19,570
Golf Edition 30: £22,322 (£2,752 more)...
The french buy french cars even if they are sh1t though, national pride etc - like midlanders did with rover/mg. The natural choice for an auto hot hatch is a golf gti, but that aint french, hence the requirement for the 200T.
Absolutely gutted to read this, although i'm very much in the "your just throwing money away" camp now. Put a standard engine in it & enjoy it. Its never going to be particularly quick anyway (even with 210bhp) so just enjoy it for what it is. Maybe its just luck, but i've had 3 Trophies (&...
Now that makes more sense :tonguewink:
Id agree completely with that, although i do also believe that many "normal" people when they go from an Audi to a BMW find similar. Being used to masses of grip, then "easy to understand ive gone in too hard" understeer, they tend to cr4p themselves when...
lol. After. Before it was minging!! Should have done a before/after, last time it was "cleaned" was by BMW in October ha ha.
It would be much quicker tbh, even in the dry it gets very "squirrely" in 2nd/3rd in full attack mode. Whereas a TTS just steamrollers everything, even an absolute pleb...
Went to Surrey Rolling Road on Saturday with the CS lot, slightly surprised at the results :tongueclosed:
Car is manual, standard, 12 months old, run in properly, 10k on the clock.
What most surprised me wasnt the power, but the torque (335lbft) - no wonder it struggles for traction from...
