Its the dash that's appalling, just looks cheap & french. Which i guess it is i suppose lol.
Gloss black is a pain to keep clean as well, ends up with fingers prints everywhere!!
Compared to a Polo Gti:
No vids im afraid, unless it featured in someone elses lol.
Facelift gearbox (£200 with oem LSD if lucky) would be an easy (£400 labour) fit at 1320 Mini, BUT, whilst the pre-facelift one is a bit rubbish on the road, i think the ratios are perfect on track - longer gearing is less of an issue...
Very good, similar to the Carbon Lorraine Rc5+/RC6 in their feel/stopping ability/dustovereverythingness.
I always think of the mini as a "posh" clio, natural progression when you grow up, or want more power without spending £££'s.
MPG wise, i probably get 30 ish, i dont ever think "my gosh...
So Saturday 28th Feb was the Ford/Renault Bedford trackday on the SEN circuit, & happily, the car was 95% faultless all day long.
Engine pulled like a train, no spark plug/misfire issues (even at over 50IAT) so the new map from 1320 has cured all problems.
Handling wise, in the morning (damp)...
I dont think the car is special enough to wear Trophy pink tbh. This is simply the car that the 200EDC should be anyway.
Id expect the changes to filter down the range, then in 2 years time we'll see a Trophy-R which will be the proper version.
Happens with EVERY single new RenaultSport launch...
Omg. I actually saw one on Saturday near Bedford Autodrome. Only taken what, 18 months?
Thought it was a Seat Leon at first lol. Was ok in yellow. Massive great big car though.
Hopefully the Trophy will be interesting.
Car looks average, & i hate that sodding iPad thing on the dash.
But, Chris Harris' videos really are utterly fantastic, his description of the car is brilliant, & you get a real "feel" for the car from your sofa.
You'll love it even more now
Apologies for the cr4ppy photos, it was raining.
Seat fitted. Epic driving position now!!
Wheel trial fitted, didnt realise they didnt come with spigots :tongueclosed: just bought some off ebay.
Also cleaned the mould off the roof with a dirty rag i...
If you look at the two times in the video above, one looks to be warm & sunny, another damp & grey. A time difference that little can be affected by so many different variables i wouldnt really consider it, GP2 driver had a fry up that morning vs the 208 gti driver going without for example lol...
Just checked my emails, i bought:
2 x 6Y0 827 550 C (Skoda Fabia gas springs)
2 x 1K8 827 761 C Scirocco bumpers)
2 x 1J6 827 439 A (Seat Leon ball pins)
I've got access to the proper Ross-Tech VCDS, expensive, but brilliant.
Really easy to code things as well, unlike the BMW's, which are...
This always happens tbh, primarily as a car geek you will have researched the sh1t out of that specific car before going to look, whereas the sales bloke "theoretically" knows a little about the whole range. Id travel up to an hour, but there is a Renault dealer in Weybridge (SMC) who i could...
Prices are falling, a nice '58 plate with bmw warranty & 50k miles went for £19k on cutters the other day. Manuals are cheaper, flappy paddles are still £23k+.
It does ;)
You need one of these: http://caraudiosecurity.com/kce-400bt-bluetooth-interface with the appropriate Alpine headunit. Some of them are pretty basic, no silly dolphin videos etc ...
