be careful with the 1.6si. Some of them are only 8vs. It was only from about 2000 onwards that the 1.6 all become 16v, up til then it was on the rsi and 16v models that did.
Check parkers, its more explanatory on there.
i driven both (dads got the 1.4 and me the 1.6). Yeah the 1.4 is nippy, and 10bhp dont sound like much.....BUT it is!
There is quite a noticeable difference, plus the 1.6 comes with stiffer suspension, nice alloys, wider tyres etc. It is also quicker than the stats say.
I doubt youll find...
mines normally 33mpg. Thats mainly short stop start journeys to uni/work/gym and thrashing it nearly every night :devilish:
On a steady motorway journey it does 40+
each to there own. In the 3 cars ive had it has made all of them run smoother and just feel more responsive (even if there is no performance gain).
The missus has a 1.1 metro and knows fck all about petrol. I told her to stick some optimax in and she even thinks it makes a difference without...
I know speedos arent accurate but i was thinking that the speedo will give a different reading if the front tyres are new or only have a few mm of tread left. Basically cos the tyre will have a smaller circumference hence the speedo will be a little more generous when the tyres are older.
Does...
sounds like they cross thread the plug when they put it back in??
as for getting it out, does the whole plug spin?? or is the bolt just spinning around the plug? (i that makes sense).
just wondering, if your prepared to take the head off, why didnt u service it urself?
well i had the choice of both when i was looking for my current car. Although the 106 had better performance and i could afford either, i decided on the clio as i preferred the better interior, air con, fully adjustable seats, newer car, not cramped, slightly lower insurance, more car for ya...
hey m8, go down the breakers in sittingbourne. They got quite a few clios where ya can get them. I got the whole unit when somone ripped mine off for about £10.
msn me if u need more info m8y
i get about that in my 1.6 but thats with the air con on most of the time, a lot of stop start journeys, and a fair bit of ragging :-)
Motorway driving i get 40+
yeah just checked the nuts theyre fine.
Just taken it for a drive (inc full lock both ways) and cant here a thing. My Dad is sure he can here something but i cant (ive got beta hearing btw). The only noise i can here is the petrol bouncing back and forth (a little low he he).
Oh well guess...
Just been woken up by my dad who tells me theres a slight banging on every resolustion from the driver side front wheel :(
guess il have to go and have a look at it now, im guessing drive shaft or the bloke at the tyre place hasnt put the tyre back on properly
im fairly sure the law at the moment is as follows.
Upto 30% on the front windows and windscreen, and whatever you like on the rear windows and wind screens.
Got these fitted this arvo, cost me £78 all in :)
So far so good, has done away with all the torque steer sh*te i used to get when i had a half worn pirelli and a new budget tyre on there.
If anyones interested in Medway i got it done at a place called DG tyres in Parkwood (rainham)
NUD do allow mods but charge a fair bit e.g. a filter ur looking at £60, IK about £80, any lowering £100+, Zorst about 80-100.
Thats from my experience.

Just placed an order with my local tyre place for 2 Goodyears NCT5s. In 185x60x14.
The bloke reckons theyre pretty good and there only costing me £39 a corner.
Is this a good deal and are they any good, most of the reviews seem to think theyre pretty smart.
yeah i was just guessing at the 0-60 cos i only timed to 65. Il do a 0-60 run over the weekend :)
i might try and get mine up the strip sometime over the summer to try and get some proper figures for the non-believers :o
rattle from the roof, its not the sunroof so should be sorting it as soon as i get some sponge :)
the passenger door has the faintest of constant rattles that u cant hear as soon as the radios on. This dont really bother me but il take the door apart eventually and find it.
The car is so...
digging up an old thread here but anyways here goes.
Ive been doing some runs tonight and although the times arent dead accurate they give a rough guide of how fast these are.
0-65 clocked at 9.9 secs, so 0-60 is prolly close to 9.
0-80 was 14.5 secs - allowing for speedo inaccuracy this...
yeah use a hammer!! thats what i had to do.
Alternatively put the wheel back on and put a could of studs in but only loosely. Rock the wheel back and forth and it should help free the hub up.

well my last clio (92 plate) i had for a year and all i had to do was replace a thermostat, wheel bearing, brake cylinder and one shock. £150 on a 12 year old car - not bad :)
Had my new one for 2 weeks and love it. Not had a problem yet, but then wouldnt expect to either.
My dads had his...
