Looking good. Got a set of really nice light weight 16" Advan RG1 wheels that will look ace on this. Also got really nice 17" gram lights with tyres as well. PM me if interested.
Yeah only seem to do it on boost. Its more noticeable in a higher gear when planting the throttle. Not as bad when lifting off right near the rev limiter.
Got a strange issue with the VRS TFSI when lifting off the throttle it feels like the car is still accelerating (boosting) slightly. Not an issue in every day driving but when really pushing on into a corner its the last thing you want when lifting off the throttle.
Tried contacting Shark...
Similar power to what my 182 was running but with AST's and other handling mods and there was still no way it was going through a corner at 100+ not with a noob like me driving anyway, lol.
Pointless on a Clio as mentioned aero only really starts to work at 100+ and I cant think of a track in the UK where a standard engine Clio would be moving through a corner at 100+ for aero to work. If anything adding aero will make you slower as it just adds drag.
Just an observation on your...
Its definitely a bit weird as its not like the tyres are rolling over onto the sidewalls. When I received the 2's back from GY (They where well worse than these) instead of binning them I paid for 30 laps of 3 sisters to burn them up to which I only managed 10 before the tyres were totally...
No mate just some b road blasts. Had exactly the same issue with the 2's on my 6MPS as well. Ended up putting in a claim with Goodyear as well who fobbed me off royally after me sending them back the tyres. They said no issues and if I wanted to take it further I'd have to pay for a independent...
As above take your budget and double it. Also ask yourself if it drops a valve or snaps the belt can you afford to have it fixed or afford to have it scrapped for that matter.
I bought mine for £1500 and near 2 years later and 11 tracks days i was £6k deep and that didn't include the days and...
Bit late but just changed the Goodyear's to the front and they are much more comfortable without sacrificing to much performance.
Once again though just like the 2's before them show them some really enthusiastic driving and they disintegrate on the outer shoulders.
This was after 30 minutes...
Its a tough one to go flat as you can only start braking once youve got most of that load off, by that time you're near the big dip and it locks easily coming into cascades leading to a late entry wasting the inside camber of the corner.
I just lifted slightly to get a cleaner entry and fast...
Got the F1 3's on the rear of the Skoda which I'm going to rotate today with the PS4's so i can let you know the difference later. I've had the F1 2's on the MPS i had and they were a comfortable good all round tyre so expect these the same.
No mate the discs attach to the stub axel which could be bent. Could also be the rear beam.
As mentioned get it aligined and take it from there to see what needs changing. You can use shims on the stub axel to reduce the camber back to normal.
Falken FK510 are cracking tyres at budget prices. Got them on my Mondeo ST and on my Missus Scenic and really rate them for the money. I'm like yourself hate a stiff sidewalled tyre for road use.
Got Ps4's on the Skoda and they're to stiff for me on the road especially now they're near the...
Congratulations on your fitst day at Oulton. I still remember mine and just couldn't belive the elevation differences around the track. Felt like a roller coaster few the first few laps, lol.
I too nealy spun at Lodge on my first day. You've just got to keep your foot in to bring it back out...
And i thought i ploughed money into track cars, lol.
Should be a good little roadster once all set up, albeit not the quickest on track but you'll still be having as much fun as the other cars out there.
I'd defo look into the 2ZZ conversion once you've hit the limit of its performance as is...
Was the main reason we got rid of our 1.8. Why Honda though the ride was acceptable is beyond me. I would have the FN2 type r in a heart beat if it didn't rattle your teeth out. The ep3 was fine as well, had that for over 5 years without complaint.
