Kumhos are decent especially if they are the KU39s, probably not much between them in any condition tbh as lets face it the PS3 are a bit of a let down compared to the ps2 and ps4.
Save your money and fit the Kumhos.
I used to use mine every Friday to work but the 11kg AST's completely ruined the ride so just stopped driving it.
Wish I'd left it near standard looking back as those extra few seconds on track for the ££££'s i put into it in mods just wasn't worth it. I was having no more fun than when it...
Try doing 90 minutes (25 mile) in rush hour motorway traffic in one with 11kg springs, bucket seat & harness, cage, no interior, squeaky brakes and a loud exhaust ?
You could just buy a cheap blow torch with replaceable gas cans like the below, that's what I ended up with and its been great. You can concentrate the heat away from the bearing then and they are mega handy especially on the old Clio's...
I couldn't get the rings of my rear discs when I first bought the car as they were rusted, so just banged the disc over the gas hob to heat the rings and they slid off with a tap of a flathead screwdriver.
My Clio ran standard rear camber and would always wear the inside of the rear tyres so could of been a tyre pressure issue. More than likely over inflated running in the centre of the tread. So couple that with a cold, hard compound tyre and there's your spin.
Just done a wewantanycar quote and it came in at £6100, which wont be to far off what the trade price would be, so he'll need to sell private to get close to what he wants to purchase the M135i he's after, with that I'd say £9k was fair?
Few (bad) pics of the Meg on offer at work. Not as mint as i first thought on closer inspection, quite a few scratches, dinks and imperfections which will cost around £500 to sort, also big hole in the drivers upper bolster which will cost £100 or so. Also needs new discs and pads at £380 as...
Tried to teach my mate how to do it at Oulton as i lost a part of my soul every time he dropped into 3rd coming into old hall.
He couldn't get the hang off so the box kept taking a beating, lol.
The guy who has just bought my 'spares or repair' 190 for the engine does the mr2 1zz-2zz conversion. Some of his work here...i should have gone down the mr2 2zz route!
Got one mate with the Mondeo ST. Going back to a nice daily that I can track. Its a waste having a track car sat idle 95% of the year. Missus is gonna have the Mondeo and we'll get rid of the Scenic.
On track and spirited road driving no doubt a manual as you have total control, and even better if you can heal and toe. Monday morning on the M62 in a 2 hour tail back a manual becomes a bloody pain in the arse.
Think I'm going with the meg though, I'll just leave for work earlier ?
Its already got a scorpion non resonated cat back with decat and is pretty loud. Could end up going back to the standard exhaust if i buy it as i cba with a loud exhaust as I'm near 40 now, lol.
What do you recommend? Was just going to use the PSS's at the front and ps4's rear the car comes with coupled with DS1.11's all round for my first few days to get a feel for it.
The more I read about the Clio 200's EDC box the more I'm put off by it. Not for the road so much but on track. Now I know it isn't a race box, far from it but I can see it not being great e.g braking hard from 120mph 6 gear into a 2nd-3rd gear 40 mph corner and it just not giving me the...
Cheapest feel good mod that transfers the drive for me is an aftermarket wheel. A deep dish or mid dished type that will bring the wheel closer to you. I had the suede OMP WRC and it transformed the drive totally from that stupid satellite dish OE wheel with the dumbest steering angle possible...
There's a 200 at my local Vauxhall garage and the 250 with my mate in work so will give them both a try. Without even driving either my heart is saying Megane and head Clio, lol.
Thanks mate, just what i was looking for in an answer.
What's the ride comfort in the meg like in comparison?
Also hows the meg in long periods of stop start traffic?
The last thing i would want is a stiff clutch and sensitive throttle in 1st gear like on some performance cars I've owned...
