Its only a ref to check tat you are indeed locking it at the tdc position.
The only way is to use the locking tool, an 8mm puch or 8mm drill bit but use the shank not the tip.
If it is in car then i will use the slot ont he flywheel to line up with the gearbox TDC marker.
If cyl leakage is sub 10-12% you should be ok with dry cylinder walls. But in reality you want to ignore the readings really as most cheapo gauges give pretty useless readings.
You will want to set the engine to the comp stroke at tdc and check leakage, but listen to the inlet port, exhaust...
Yes and no, we all know what not to fit and where.
But on a phs1 clio i've had a set of 280 degs idling quite nicely without much lope at all.
172's/182s are more of a pain due to the FBW more than anything else.
Exactly!
The only issue is that the ratio of input to throttle output is no close to linear. There is a HUGE null zone where nothingh happens, then you can modulate sub 50% throttle easily, and the last 50% of the throttle blows through in about 10% controller movement.....and no options to...
You will not get close to 210bhp.
And the points people are making are usually based on second hand information. You car WILL run, it WILL idle and it will be fine to drive. The cams are not so wild that the thing will refuse to run in any half decent capacity at all. You will only encounter...
Finding published data such as this is hard.
I actually worked out the 172's cam data from a renault megane manual as that was the only reference to the sports cam timing.
jesus, what is this all about?
The guy whats to try some cams that he likes, and thats his choice, he asked if he can technically run them, and yes he can.
There are alot of opinions that are neither here nor there being thrown about, and alot of completely off topic comments. People are...
If you could setup controller sensitivity or something then it would be fine, but as it stands, the null zones are huge and response is slow slow slow. Its like playing with the d pad and buttons.
yea, putting it on knocked off another few tenths.
The linear throttle control on the controller is s**t, nothing...nothing...BAM....so you cant regulate it between half and full throttle as there is only like 1mm of movement.
Can we all play with some faster cars.........2 min laps are...
You dont get 10-15bhp lol, there isnt that much available in a stock exhaust replacement. We saw 7 peak bhp gains and the majority of the work was done to increase torque and area under the graph.
Its not on a clio, its on a fiesta with a JWRC S1600 cylinder head and ITB setup and a 2ltr F3 block.
Previously making 257bhp, now making 273.
I specified the manifold lengths, diameters, stepdown size, point of step down and we had a specific bore size for the system made up, so that...
If you want to run those cams then you will have to try what i have outlined. They will make the engine peakier in nature and loose you some lower rpm drive. However, that is yoru choice if you want something that just kicks like a mule above 5000rpm.
Alternatively you can swap to 428's that...
no, bored of people wanting the earth for tuppence.
The last custom system i had made cost £2300 inc manifold, is a proper 'race' system and kicks the s**t out of anything i've ever seen posted here quality wise. But it did kick the s**t out of my customers wallet.
