Yep same as mine mate, I tried with 2 x 69mm and a 76mm to no avail, but 69mm should be the right one. Just try and make sure the trumpet is not bent to get the best seal you can, smother the fecker in high temp silicone and clamp it up and hope for the best.
The issue I was having was the...
So I'll start with mine on a 04 182, which is in the 'other' category as I have no idea when either were changed but the cambelt looked fresh, the aux belt not so. So the scenario, pulled away in first and it just died, after looking under the bonnet the aux belt had frayed on both edges and...
So after my recent aux belt failure slipping the timing on the Clio, I was just curious as to how often this actually occurs on the sport engines. If relevant please choose a poll option and post in the thread with what engine this occurred on and the scenario of how it happened.
Wheels look nice, r888s aren't great in the wet either BTW, OK in the damp, shite if there's puddles about. I only use mine on dry days now and have an old set of F1's with Rainsport 3's for wet days which are great for a mushy budget road tyre.
OK so the car is going into Carl for a ph1 head he has lying around as well as 197 cams as originally planned. Was all for breaking it this morning and never doing track days again 😂
Yep they are far too aggressive for the light clio's. I was actually slower around Oulton compared to OE pads they were that bad with locking up.
Mine has just snapped its aux belt taking the cambelt with it on the way to getting a full belt change, unlucky or what!
As Carl said above its slipped its timing. Cams are moving when turned over but no compression so probably took all the valves with it. And to add insult to injury the AA guy sheared the tow eye, lol.
Dunno what to do now, break or new head?
No metallic sound of the engine chewing itself up but you can't tell without opening it up I know. I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.
Car is on its way to have its belts done and it' gone, what are the odds! Unsure of damage. It just died spluttering and found part of my aux belt gone.
You tried those springs on the road yet? Just picked my car up from storage with 90/110nm and felt sick as a dog once I got home 8 miles away.
If you're going slow in 1st or 2nd and hit a decent bump you end up jabbing the throttle and launchig foward, lol.
