By looking stupid :)
Quite far around the bend (opposite the marshals post) as the electricity wires make me go all funny (seriously!), led on the ground with the camera through the wire fence doing mini-pans...therefore had to go up to 1/320 due to restricted movement.
Sharkaroo: Didn't...
Clio_Head = Arse ;)
Vids will be tonight, got some free time after football training, so probably about midnight!
Disclaimer: it's probably not very good, only did about 20 minutes of footage and all from the start/finish line, too busy taking pics to do any vid.
PS: To all those who...
Packed day at Combe on Monday, 10 races, biggest crowd of the year...and the quickest-maddest 4 wheel vehicles I've ever seen on track...
And here are the quick ones, couldn't believe the commitment and bravery of these nutters. Flat out over Avon Rise and...
I agree ;)
I see the stats are starting to be rolled out, remember that the PS2 was by far the most underpowered system in the last gen, yet still "won", and regardless of whether the PS3 or 360 is more powerful, if either of them is so hard to develop for that the potential can't be untapped...
All my pics are pretty much straight from camera, just a bit of cropping usually. I guess it's personal preference, I like it though!
You can vary the intensity etc but it's borderline impossible without a D-SLR, I have to lock onto the car with AF, track it, and whilst doing that rotate the...
I've got a Canadian DS, a UK charger, and US, UK & Japanese games.... everything works absolutely fine with each other. No problems with wi-fi or anything like that.
Me and the missus' (has a UK DS) have even had wireless link up's with the various combinations of the region stuff, no...
I guess so, but I literally have thousands of head-on pics without the polarizer and they are all the same, a sheen over the windscreen. I've only had the polarizer two days but I've taken over a thousand motorsport pics and all the head-on shots are much 'cleaner'. It can't be coincidence...
How do you mean?
Here is a better example, would simply never have been able to get the pic of the 5 like that without the filter. My camera just seems to react well to it, really cuts through the haze and windscreen.

Yeah have noticed that, doesn't make the lenses any cheaper though ;)
Going to try a Sony R1 I think, 10.3MP CMOS sensor so quality is absolutely stunning, all the samples I've seen so far look amazing.
I was waiting for it to hit you! Thinking when I got home that I should have got the video camera out for the drag, you could have filmed Tucks as I drove alongside him in our synchronised 0-100 display :)
Ah this sucks, never started a thread before that has turned to s**t like this.
In answer to one of the questions that has been asked a lot, I'm guessing they used a 197 because it's actually a new, available to buy from Renault car. Why would they review the 182 when they've already done...
A303, forgot to say I would be heading that way, pretty quick route back to mine.
Ads: no drag shots, had packed the camera up by then as Tucks forced me to run S25!
Jim: will have a look through and post some up if I've got any. Just downloading 850 Castle Combe pics from today to my PC...
Don't Renaultsport own the Williams now? I can't imagine they would be overly harsh on the 197 compared to the Williams, I doubt they would lend them the Williams just so they can **** off the 197 (if indeed they wanted to **** off the 197).
lol,
smell of poo - check
car smell of poo - check
sunburnt - check
clothes covered in grit - check
ears full of grit - check
shower floor coated with an inch of grit - check
eyes bloodshot and stinging like crazy - check
All good fun though :)
I might have to do a seperate thread...
Tiff Needell was down at Castle Combe last week filming a forthcoming feature for Fifth Gear. He was test driving the 197 for the show, as part of the feature he was running Williams 001 on the Castle Combe circuit.
Certainly one to watch out for and sure to generate lots of discussion when...
Ok, a bit of an odd thing to get excited about, but easily the best £20 I've spent on photography equipment ever.
Hama 62mm Circular Polarizer, not even a great polarizer (didn't want to spend too much as getting a new camera soon) but did the exact job I wanted it to do. Removed the sheen...
Superb, would love to do this but never have the balls. So you just pulled up and pitched your tent wherever every night? In a field etc? Fair play, looked like great fun.
Great pics, was the Team Tiger Marcos not running? Close to my heart that one, built about 800m from my house.
Good to see the GT field a bit bigger, last season it was awful at some circuits, only a couple of Ferrari's, loads of Porsche's, the Marcos, Morgan and Monaro running regularly. The...
Not too many this time (every time I looked at a car to take a pic I spent a further 2 minutes cleaning my eyes out, got 300 pics instead of the usual 700+) so they are all in one album here. As usual the red cars have the most pics because they are much easier to photograph, so lots of...
R10 CUP I think, spotted in Taunton about 4:45pm this afternoon, probably couldn't have missed us as we were in a Ph1 172 / 172 Cup / 1.8 16V / Williams convoy! Then a Naples Valver motoring on the A303 about 5:30pm.
That was then followed up by two Evos (8 I think) on the A36 Warminster...
Legend! Got some great video of the beast, what engine/bhp is it out of interest?!
Here is a little picture sampler, honestly been pmsl at this for ages now...
