    SSD Upgrade on MBP

I have the Vertex 2E too. Rapid! Start-up time on the HDD was 45-47 seconds. SSD time = 16-17 seconds. Everything is instant on SSD too, once you get one you could never go back! I keep getting fed up with my work laptops that are normal HDD, keep forgetting they slower :(

    365/52 2010 - Who's playing?

Yeh Im not saying most of the photos will be rubbish, but if you've had no time to do any photography that day, you'll just find something in the house and quickly take a photo just to count as your 'one-a-day'. Thats why a 52 is the most I would do. I've no idea what to do for this weeks photo...

    Request: Low Light Clio Pictures

Ali, if those shots had some light on the car they would be awesome. Shame you're so far away :(

    365/52 2010 - Who's playing?

I find it just negatively forces creativity, as you just end up finding random rubbish to photograph each day (not that the people who have done 365s have done that!) I would never do a 365, only a 52 :)

    SSD Upgrade on MBP

Do it. I went SSD on my main drive on my PC and never looked back. I bought a third party SSD for my MBP and it's awesome (dont get Apples shitty expensive one btw!)

Well this thread has taken the obvious turn lol!

    Nash Point, Wales

Thanks guys. Filters used were the Lee Big Stopper and Lee 0.6 GND Hard. Shutter speeds were around 15-30 seconds for the shots where the water looks cloudy, and around 1/10th for the last shots. My filter got soaked on the last shot, just dried it off and back to shooting :)
  18. DanFreemanPhoto

    Right, someone explain...

I still chuckle at the people who struggle with iTunes.

    Lens Advice?

I'm not sure how you can expect any advice when you haven't stated what you want a lens for.

I've been working at night shots.

    ^ Diffraction ftl :(
  21. DanFreemanPhoto

I've been working at night shots.

^ IF you mean the headlight, just a reasonably long exposure like a few seconds or more.
  22. DanFreemanPhoto

I've been working at night shots.

P+S will do that, better if it has manual settings though.
  23. DanFreemanPhoto

I've been working at night shots.

Any need for the quote?!?!?!?! Could you ask a slightly less vague question lol!
  24. DanFreemanPhoto

I've been working at night shots.

The simplest lightsource is some sort of white torch, usually LED. Use a long exposure, like 10 seconds or more, and walk round the side of the car shining the light on the car. Or....get a flashgun, with a remote trigger so you can place it on the floor somewhere aiming at the car.

I've been working at night shots.

Looking much better, all you need to focus on now is getting some light on the car.

    My new i5 MacBook Pro.

Don't forget the i7s have an extra 256MB graphics, useful for certain things! ;)
