I've warped the discs (or something). They were both new 2 track days ago and disks are only £30 a pair.
Will obviously be changing both now :p.
I had a DS Performance pad completely fail at 130mph on track, and now the DS 2500s have crumbled after 2 track days. Needless to say I'm not...
Went to change the disks and found the front pads crumbling away around the edges. It looks like the inside of a digestive biscuit, and breaks away easily. I'm guessing there dead so have ordered some new ones.
What could cause this? The car has been off the road since September so is it just...
They don't like standing water, but then no track tyres do really.
But other than that they are fine. I've tracked them in the wet and had plenty of predictable grip, and lift off oversteer on demand when wanted :). And done loads of road driving too and they are fine so long as you avoid the...
I though I recognised this thread :p
Cheers harv. The smaller wheel has smoothed out my movements, so I will now focus on combining the power and unwinding the lock to improve exits.
If I ever get my car back on the road, that is :(
Hmm.
I'm thinking about stripping the interior, but it seems rather pointless removing the back seats to just leave the massive heavy fronts in. I don't have the money or desire to go buckets and harnesses.
Yeah I know people will still get in if they want, but its about stopping them wanting too. If someone is out to steal then they will go for the car where they can see a bunch of tools, car parts and a jack in the boot.
If your concerned about people hitting your car when parked then don't you want a security camera on your house watching it instead? An in car one is only going to catch anyone hitting the front of your car.
I'm seriously considering loosing the back seats in my 172 which is used almost exclusively on track. The only thing stopping me is keeping the boot secure. The back seats combined with the parcel shelf mean you cannot see whats in my boot, which is handy as I keep a lot of tools and things in...
Sorry Johnny, completely forgot about this thread :)
I never really had a benchmark to go from so don't know what they are performing like, but I can't imagine they make things any worse, lol.
The deflector plates are shoddy though, anyone got any ideas on what else I could use? Or should...
The fluids not old but its done enough track days to be screwed so it might have a different colour. The syringe idea is a good one, cheers.
I've got plenty of time to sort it (all winter) so I think I might just give it a try with the Super Blue I have and if I struggle ill get something...
What's a good fluid for track days? I got some more Super Blue to replace what I already have, but have realised its going to be a pain to change blue fluid with blue fluid as I won't know when its cone through. What other suggestions are there for affordable track day fluid?
I think their rubber feet. The smaller ones are used for laptops and things. The larger ones would likely go on PC cases and stuff. The sticky back seems fairly strong.
I'd prefer the cup blanks too, but they aren't 99p ;)
For a quid they are great. I'm also fairly sure that just having the holes in the bumper would fail an MOT as it would fall into the category of defective washers. The blanks make it look more like they shouldn't be there.
And while they...
Got fed up trying to get my carbon blanks to fit, so instead bought a set of these:

They work like a charm. They are only slightly larger that the hole in the bumper so dont stand out to much, and they...
