Brake Pads like Biscuits!

Car  Ph2 Clio 172
Went to change the disks and found the front pads crumbling away around the edges. It looks like the inside of a digestive biscuit, and breaks away easily. I'm guessing there dead so have ordered some new ones.

What could cause this? The car has been off the road since September so is it just that its not moved? Or have I cooked them on a track day to cause it (the only use it got before being parked up was a couple of track days)?

I've warped the discs (or something). They were both new 2 track days ago and disks are only £30 a pair.

Will obviously be changing both now :p.

I had a DS Performance pad completely fail at 130mph on track, and now the DS 2500s have crumbled after 2 track days. Needless to say I'm not impressed with Ferodo. CL RC5+ next.

My DS3000's only lasted 2 track days. But apparently its something to do with the way i drive... DS2500's lasted ages though, but faded alot.

Yeah, I followed the bedding in instructions (all be it on the road, the instructions refer to laps), and they had a good 1000 miles of road use before I hit the track.

I didn't notice any issues at my last track day in September, but the car hasn't moved since then. Could the frost have munched them?
