Thanks for the help guys. I tried the Live CD for Ubuntu a couple of years back and there was a mouse support issue so avoided it but will give the new version a go.
Getting sick to death of XP grinding to a halt and being slow in general. What about virus protection/firewall? Are there any...
Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a couple of questions which would help me greatly.
I have a Sony Vaio (Core Duo 1.6Ghz, 1Gb RAM) which has Windows XP on it. The laptop is grinding to a slow halt and I really don't fancy installing Windows on it again and to be honest I don't think it...
Thanks! Needs a wash though, I only clean it a couple of times a year. I have to go down a country lane to work and back every day, in the winter my car gets muddy and in the summer it gets dusty - can't win!
I have been to Secondsite before, when I got back from travelling I went down there...
I used to work with a guy (a few years ago) who had a Mk4 Astra and he would never service it apart from doing an oil change once a year. He had done this for years on different cars and would get some hefty mileage out of them (he was on a car allowance scheme at work and did a lot of motorway...
My clio is 100% standard (bar the head unit) and I don't plan on modifying it. By the time you buy all the mods, add them, pay extra for insurance it's too much effort and expense. I prefer bikes to cars anyway.
The 182 is fast enough for me on the road and the only time I wished I had something...
Probably not actually. Although the 182 is fun and has given me nearly 4 years trouble free motoring I find the suspension hard, and the seats a bit uncomfortable.
However, thats not to say I wouldn't have a Megane etc.
I think my next daily car will be a German tank which although may be dull...
Hi,
I wonder if I can pick the brains of CS members.
I am currently restoring a motorcycle and need 4 wheel bearings. The exact part is this one: http://www.cmsnl.com/products/bbrg-rad-ncom_961406301010/
As you can see from the link they are 12Euros each (48 in total) and I think that is a...
DebV6 had a great CD player which suited the dash really well... forgot the name of it though!
Looks so standard that you can leave it in the car without the fear of it being stolen :)
I agree completely Roy.
Hills + ice/snow are a big no/no as well. Had to turn back on the way to work this morning and go a different route which is a 5 mile detour!
Never been a big fan of Vista but then again I am a bit of a ludite!
Had a copy of Vista when it was in BETA for a development project at work and hated it with a passion as we could never get our software to work on it. It gave us all a headache for months.
I have been using XP since launch...
Not surprised they are being attacked to be honest. Some members on their forums have left under some bad terms previously.
Also, from what I am led to believe their customer service is shocking - that's the reason I will never buy from them.
Fireworks is quite similar to Photoshop (although isn't as good). It ties in well with Dreamweaver but I think you will overcomplicated things by trying to use Fireworks if you haven't used it before.
Do you know how to use the slice tool in Photoshop? If so, just practice on something random...
+1
Easiest way to do it to be honest :)
I have to send newsletters out to 200,000+ members each week and I create them in Photoshop and then slice them up.
Ditch the text part of graphic though and give that cell a fixed width (after you have sliced it up and exported it) so you can type into...
Hi,
Hope this is the right section although it's not Clio related. I have some old motorbike parts (mudguards, wheel rims and a couple of panels) from an old motorbike that I would like to get resprayed. They are currently a bit rusty in places and I think the best course of action would be to...
I haven't washed mine for months! The roads I take to work mean it would get dirty in about 2 miles so therefore I shall wait until we have some better weather.
Modifying the 1*2 engine is a complete waste of time and money. Because it's NA you have to spend some serious £££ (talking thousands) before you seem any good gains.
Instead of spending that money save it, sell the clio and buy a faster car.
I really don't see the attraction of spending...
